Logan saw what happened from his seat opposite Alex, rising to his feet and hastening to Joanna's side.
However, the man in the wheelchair spread his arms, allowing her to fall right onto his lap, his right hand circling protectively around her, as his left hand balled, sending a painful punch to Logan's face, causing him to bleed from the nose.
It was accompanied by a strong warning: "Don't ever try to touch my wife again. I'm capable of protecting her, just as myself," Alex said coldly. Everyone except Grandpa was amazed by what had just happened.
Logan knew about Alex's capabilities but thought he was limited by his condition. Turns out it was not so. He wiped his bleeding nose, and the sight of the blood awed him.
