"I had fun. Thank you for today." Spoke to Bridget as she was opening the door for Matthew before holding his hand to escort him toward the front door of his house.
Matthew grinned widely and tightened his grip on the other female's hand
"Thanks to you for asking. It's been so long since the last time I hung out with friends like this."
The pure happiness that Bridget saw in Matthew's eyes as the latter was talking made her completely ignore the fact that Matthew had technically friend-zoned her just seconds ago.
Although Bridget has seen Matthew happy before, for some reason, the latter looks truly happy right now.
She does not know how to exactly explain this, but the mysterious aura around Matthew evaporates, even his emotions which used to look a bit strangely fake, now look so pure.
