{A/N: Please add this to your library.... Please! I am begging you}
"Hmm... This one's a fist technique, and this one's a long-range one," Shin muttered to himself, flipping through the introductions of various martial arts from the Divine Flame Clan.
Well, not all of them, just the first few pages to get an idea of what each technique was about. He wasn't planning on mastering them right away; he just wanted to figure out what kind of arts were worth his time.
{Master, I suggest you pick a fist and footstep technique for now, as they are essential for any martial artist.}
The system's suggestion didn't surprise Shin. In fact, it barely earned a reaction from him as he continued scanning the pages.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. I've read tons of martial arts manhwa and novels. It's common sense," Shin muttered absentmindedly, not even bothering to look at the system panel hovering behind him.
His eyes stayed glued to the martial arts introductions. After all, in the world of martial arts, everyone knows that footwork and hand-to-hand combat are critical.
It didn't take the system telling him that. Anyone with even a shred of knowledge in this genre would know that much.
In fact, Shin was addicted to martial arts manhwa at one point. He'd devoured so many of them that he could practically recite the steps to mastering combat in his sleep.
And honestly, it's martial arts, for crying out loud. Footstep techniques and hand-to-hand combat were the basics. It would be like learning to write without knowing the alphabet.
After a while, Shin finally decided which techniques he would focus on. The first was the "Footstep Technique of the Phoenix." Like the name suggested, it was a footwork technique.
The second was "Fist of the Phoenix," which, in Shin's opinion, was a bit misleading. Phoenixes don't even have fists, so how could they throw a punch?
But whatever, who cares about the name?
Both were grandmaster-grade martial arts, and from what Shin knew, in the martial world, a grandmaster could easily stand on par with a Kage-level shinobi if you compared the two systems. With the right amount of power, they could obliterate mountains.
And in the martial world, having techniques like these wasn't just a luxury—it was a game-changer. People would kill for the chance to learn something at this level.
{Oh... Those are some low-grade techniques you picked there. But they'll be decent for the time being.}
The system's snarky comment caught Shin off-guard, and he just stared at the panel with a bewildered look on his face.
He could practically feel the system spitting on the techniques he'd chosen, like it was disgusted that Shin would even bother with something so beneath its standards.
"Low-grade, huh? What's the highest grade by your standards then?" Shin was genuinely curious now. Just how powerful was the Heavenly Demon if techniques like these were considered low-grade?
His curiosity was starting to get the better of him, but before he could dive deeper into those thoughts, the system interrupted again.
{Master, since you have chosen the martial arts, would you like to leave the system space?}
"Yeah, sure," Shin replied without hesitation. As soon as the words left his mouth, the world around him started to crack like glass, and with a sudden boom, he was back in his room.
"Hmm... Where are my martial arts?" Shin looked down at his empty hands, expecting the books he had just been holding to still be there. But of course, they were gone.
{Master, the library was in your mind space, where time doesn't pass. You can't bring the books into the real world, but I can display their pages on my panel.}
"Oh, I see." Shin rubbed his chin thoughtfully, mulling over the system's explanation. It made sense, though he had to admit, it would've been nice to have a physical copy of the techniques. But this way, he could still access them whenever he wanted.
.....
One Day Later....
"AHHHHH!!!!!!! My hand is on fire!" Shin who was running around finding water in a room whose walls were made purely out of mountain rocks, in search of water.
{Master, I told you to be careful while learning martial arts for the first time}
"Shut up!" Shin said to system as he found a bucket of water and dipped his hand which was burning in it.
So, What actually happened was that his father get him a training room made inside of a mountain to train since it is the perfect place where no one can attack him and shin can train without any restriction.
And even gave him the clan's jutsus to learn but of course shin wasn't going to learn them, they are pathetic.
But he end up burning his own hand while practicing the "Fist of the phoenix" martial arts which hurt like hell.
