{A/N: This chapter is longer than usual because it's one of the most important chapters so far.
After this, the main character's personality will undergo a significant transformation, shifting from a normal human to the one you've will read about.
To be honest, I've been feeling a bit demotivated lately since not many people are commenting on this fic anymore. So, I thought I'd try something different...
Leave me a lot of comments, or by the curse of the Heavenly Demon, your dick will shrink by 6 inches!}
'Hmm... what the hell is this place?' I thought as I suddenly found myself standing in pure, unfiltered darkness. There was nothing around—just endless black.
The last thing I remembered was sitting in the Heavenly Demon's library, flipping through some dusty old scrolls about that annoying sect on Mount Tian Hua.
Then, out of nowhere, this text appeared: "Would you like to experience it?"
Before I could even blink or think, the dizziness hit me like a hammer, and boom—I was out cold. I passed out. In my own damn mind space, of all places!
'Ugh!' I groaned, trying to shake off the weirdness, but just as I was starting to make sense of things, the darkness around me exploded. Literally.
A light bright enough to fry my eyes sliced right through the center of the void, like someone ripping apart a piece of paper.
It was disturbingly like... well, a penis entering a vagina, to be honest. Yeah, I'm classy like that.
And I immediately hated the light. It gave me flashbacks to when that damned sunlight would smack me in the face at 6 a.m. sharp, right after I'd passed out at 4 a.m. Great times, huh?
Slowly, the light started fading, and just like a broken window, the darkness shattered, falling apart in pieces like glass.
I wasn't even surprised anymore—I've seen this system of mine do weirder, more dramatic shit. Whoever designed it must've had a flair for the theatrical.
"Huh? What is that?" I muttered, watching the dark world collapse. Suddenly, in front of me was a mountain range.
Not the kind that scrapes the sky, but big enough that clouds were hanging around the peaks—actual clouds, not just fog. Don't ask me how I knew that, I just did.
"Mount Tian Hua pests... You should've known your place," a voice rumbled through the air. Weirdly, it felt like my voice, but... I wasn't the one speaking.
Hold on a second... was I watching this from someone else's perspective?
Yeah, that had to be it. I wasn't controlling this—someone else was, and I was just... along for the ride.
The scene shifted, and it felt like whoever I was seeing through had just launched themselves into the air, soaring straight toward those mountains.
They had to be at least a couple hundred miles away, and this guy—or thing—was covering that distance in seconds.
"Knock knock, motherfuckers," the voice growled again, and a sword appeared in their hand. Strangely, it felt like my hand was holding the sword too, even though I wasn't the one moving.
CRACK.
BOOM.
Third-Person POV
The Heavenly Demon shot through the air, his sword materializing in his grip as he rocketed toward Mount Tian Hua.
With a single, effortless slash, he shattered the barrier surrounding the mountain—an ancient defense that had protected the sect for thousands of years.
As the barrier disintegrated, the sprawling city it had hidden came into view, its buildings like specks in the vastness of the mountain range, now completely exposed for the first time in ages.
As the Heavenly Demon landed in the heart of the Tian Hua Sect, his face carried the usual arrogant, confident smirk—the kind he'd wear even if an immortal showed up to challenge him.
His every move radiated that untouchable, cocky aura, like he owned the very ground he walked on.
Suddenly, a burst of pink lightning shot towards him, crashing into the ground about fifty meters ahead. When the dust cleared, an old woman, looking like she was well into her late sixties, stood there.
She was decked out in the standard Tian Hua uniform, her eyes filled with a mix of disgust and fury as she glared at him.
"Heavenly Demon, you've made a grave mistake coming here," she spat, her voice laced with venom. "You're surrounded by the Tian Hua Sect from all sides!" Her wrinkled face twisted, trying to mask her growing fear with anger.
He tilted his head slightly, the smug grin never leaving his lips. "Hmm... I think you've got it wrong, granny. I'm not surrounded by you. You are surrounded by me... you old hag slut."
His tone was so casual it was almost insulting, like he couldn't even be bothered to take her seriously.
The old woman's face contorted in rage. "Brat! You better watch that filthy tongue of yours. I'll make sure to chop it off personally!" she barked, a sword materializing in her hand as if ready to strike him down at any second.
But instead of flinching, the Heavenly Demon's smirk deepened. He crossed his arms lazily, giving her a once-over, and then added,
"You know, you're probably the biggest slut I've ever seen. Bet a romantic dinner for you is Fucking swallowing semen."
Before she could even respond, her head exploded into a spray of blood and bone. No flashy moves, no grand gestures—just a thought, and the old woman was gone.
If anyone with even a shred of knowledge about the martial world had witnessed this, they would've been struck speechless. After all, that old woman wasn't just some random elder—she was one of the strongest Great Saints in Murim.
A powerhouse with dreams of becoming a quasi-immortal, all snuffed out in an instant. Even the heavens couldn't have predicted that outcome.
The Heavenly Demon didn't even pause to acknowledge the body. He moved on, cold and methodical, starting a massacre that would be remembered in nightmares for centuries.
"W-What's happening?" Shin whispered, his voice trembling as he watched the carnage unfold. His heart pounded in his chest, his palms sweaty as the blood soaked the ground in rivers.
It was his first time witnessing destruction on this scale, and it was terrifyingly mesmerizing.
The Heavenly Demon left no one alive. Children, elders, crippled warriors, even the renowned jade beauties of Tian Hua—they all fell like flies before him. No one could even put up a fight. It was total annihilation.
As the bodies piled up and the massacre raged on, something strange stirred deep within Shin.
Unbeknownst to him, he wasn't just watching with horror—he was craving it. Each brutal second made him itch for more. He wanted to feel that power, that rush of standing above everyone else.
He wanted to become the Heavenly Demon.
One eternity later
"Tell me where the Heavenly Oracle is."
The Heavenly Demon's voice was cold and unbothered as he gripped the man's throat, lifting him effortlessly off the ground.
All around them, the once-proud Tian Hua Sect was reduced to flames and rubble, burning to its very core.
Corpses littered the ground, and blood flowed in rivers down the mountain, forming a waterfall of pure crimson. It was a scene straight out of hell, and the Heavenly Demon stood in its center, looking as indifferent as ever.
"I-I won't tell!" The man's voice was shaky, barely a whisper.
But before he could even finish the sentence, his body exploded, blood and bone scattering like confetti. The Heavenly Demon didn't blink.
His eyes, filled with arrogance, scanned the destruction around him as if it were a mere inconvenience.
Suddenly, the ground beneath his feet began to rumble, the mountains of Tian Hua cracking open with a deep, thunderous sound.
From the gaping fissure, a massive golden dragon erupted into the sky, its scales shimmering in the firelight, making it look even more grand and dramatic.
"COURTING DEATH!" The dragon's roar echoed across the burning sect, its voice booming with uncontained rage.
Its eyes, filled with fury, locked onto the Heavenly Demon. For thousands of years, the dragon had served as Tian Hua's protector, a quasi-immortal being.
And now, all it saw was a young brat no older than twenty standing in the ruins of what it had protected for millennia. The very sight made the dragon's blood boil.
It had lived too long, grown too powerful, to be humiliated like this. The thought of this insignificant boy destroying its sacred sect was unthinkable.
The Heavenly Demon, however, remained unphased, his smirk unwavering. "Oh... I didn't know earthworms could grow this big and shiny," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm, mocking the massive dragon without a shred of fear.
The dragon's rage intensified. "Impudent brat! You fail to see the difference between heaven and earth. When your ancestors were eating mud, this deity ruled the world!"
The dragon's massive jaws opened wide, and in an instant, a star formed within its mouth—a miniature sun, burning with the intensity to obliterate anything in its path.
It was ready to wipe the Heavenly Demon out of existence in one strike.
But the Heavenly Demon only scoffed, his expression remaining arrogant as ever. "Don't get too cocky, floating worm," he muttered. His gaze shifted to the dragon, his already crimson eyes glowing a deeper, more menacing shade of red.
In that moment, the dragon felt it—its strength was draining, bit by bit, as though the very air around it was siphoning its power.
Fear crept into its heart for the first time in centuries as it realized that this brat wasn't just arrogant... he was dangerous.
The dragon barely had time to comprehend what was happening. "What is happening? What is happe—" Its thoughts were cut short—literally—as the Heavenly Demon sliced through it effortlessly, creating a sharp air blade with nothing more than a mere thought.
One second, the beast was whole, and the next, it was split clean in half, its enormous head tumbling toward the ground like a decapitated statue.
As the dragon's head fell, its dimming eyes caught one last glimpse of the Heavenly Demon, who stood there, his cold, arrogant eyes piercing through the chaos. And suddenly, for the first time in its ancient life, the dragon felt fear.
"A-Are those... the eyes of arrogance?" the dragon stammered inwardly, its consciousness flickering. The impossibility of it slammed into the creature like a tidal wave.
No... no, it can't be... It can't be... It can't be... The phrase began looping in the dragon's mind, spiraling into madness. It can't be, it can't be, it can't be...
The repetition quickened, becoming frantic, obsessive, as though the sheer terror of the realization was tearing the dragon apart faster than the wound splitting its body in two.
It can't be... It can't be... It can't be... Over and over, the dragon's mind cracked under the weight of the thought.
It had faced death before, fought gods and demons alike, but this... this was something beyond even that. This wasn't just death—it was utter annihilation in the face of something far superior. A brat... with those eyes.
The Eyes of Arrogance. One of the most powerful talents ever recorded in the immortal scriptures. Legends whispered about them with reverence and fear.
Eyes so arrogant, they gazed upon all beings under the heavens—and the heavens themselves—with disdain. They could drain strength with a mere glance, stripping power from the mightiest of warriors like it was nothing.
And at their peak? Those eyes could reduce someone's power to zero. Complete obliteration of ability, no matter how strong or invincible someone thought they were.
Not even the Heavenly Emperor, not even an immortal god, could escape the fate of kneeling before the Eyes of Arrogance.
It was said these eyes could learn anything, master anything, simply because they viewed all things beneath them. Nothing, not even the mysteries of immortality, were beyond their reach.
Some would argue that arrogance invites weakness, that it leads to a fatal flaw. But the Heavenly Demon had no weaknesses to begin with.
He was a force beyond comprehension, a living nightmare wrapped in human flesh.
"Tch... Where the hell is the Heavenly Oracle?" the Heavenly Demon muttered, sounding almost bored as he glanced up at the night sky, completely indifferent to the destruction he had just caused.
He wiped the dragon's existence away like it was nothing more than an inconvenience, not even sparing a second thought as its remains crumbled.
The stars twinkled back at him, as if they, too, knew their place beneath his gaze.
"FUCKING AWESOME!!!"
The sudden shout pierced the silence, coming from Shin, who had been watching the entire scene unfold.
His blood pumped with adrenaline as he stood somewhere far in the future, witnessing the godlike power of the Heavenly Demon.
He couldn't help it—the sheer badassery had completely overwhelmed him. He screamed out, fists clenched in excitement, forgetting his place.
"Hm...?" The Heavenly Demon paused, tilting his head slightly. His eyes narrowed, focusing on something invisible to everyone else. "Did I hear something just now?"
Shin's heart stopped. Shit. He shouldn't have been heard. There was no way he could be heard—not when he was observing this event from the future, from a completely different space and time. It was impossible.
But then, Heavenly Demon was no ordinary being. "Ah... a fucking pest is spying on me," the Heavenly Demon growled, piecing it together with ease.
His gaze sharpened, and with a casual wave of his hand, he shattered the space between them, forcibly breaking the connection between the past and the future like tearing a piece of paper in half.
The experience collapsed. Everything around Shin dissolved into darkness.
Meanwhile, in the present-day shinobi world/
Shin and His vision had returned to the present, but his heart was still racing from the sheer terror of being noticed by someone that powerful.
Suddenly, a metallic ding echoed in his mind, followed by a message.
{Ding! Eyes of Arrogance (Level 1) have been developed.}
