United Academy.
No matter how hard I tried to avoid it, fate had its way of dragging me here. Somehow, despite all my efforts, I ended up at the United Academy.
Actually, Alastor von Helsing joined the Academy during the second semester, something unheard of in the long history of this place.
It was the first time a professor had been introduced mid-year.
Normally, it didn't matter how talented, skilled, or brilliant you were—professors were always introduced at the beginning of the year, never in the middle.
But this situation was different, something special.
You've probably heard of students bullying teachers at some schools—showing disrespect, or even, in certain countries Am... Ahmp... threatening them with guns is getting quite common.
But you wouldn't expect such third-rate behavior at a prestigious military academy like United Academy, where nobility and other types of influence hold no power.
However, while typical bullying wasn't possible here, a different kind of challenge existed, surpassing your professor.
If you could prove you had greater expertise in their field, you could undermine their authority. It was a near-impossible feat, but if someone managed it, how could the Academy allow that professor to continue?
That's exactly what Natasha Macstay did.
The Cold-blooded Princess—a name fitting for the second daughter of the Macstay family, one of the seven great families. Her father was even the Council's left wing leader.
And yes, she was the one who forced my predecessor to resign.
The bully of esteemed professors.
And now, I have to deal with her—along with that damn extra.
Just when I think my life can't get any harder, I'm proven wrong. Again and again.
Sigh...
Well, at least the other main characters won't be as troubling in the first arcs.
After checking in on the professor's attendance records, I was about to ask for directions to my office when a small, petite girl interrupted me.
She had long hair styled into a low bun, and her beauty was undeniable. I couldn't help but notice her ample bust.
I swear I'm not a pdf file, and I certainly don't act like a simp. I hate that kind of thing. But there was a mature air around her that made her captivating.
If and only if she was older then she would have been my type.
She wasn't a character I remembered from the novel. In fact, she didn't seem like a typical student here. Her sapphire eyes scanned me for a brief moment.
"You are Professor Alastor?"
"Yes?"
I nodded.
Out of nowhere, in just a couple of seconds, she got to her knees.
"I greet the young master of Blood Dawn, Master Asuka," she said in a low voice, ensuring only I heard it.
I couldn't help but look away awkwardly.
Thank god there was no one else in the lobby.
As I had previously thought, she was the spy and now my assistant, as Clark had briefed me about.
"You can stand up,"
It was awkward to play the role of a "young master," but I managed to maintain a confident demeanor. I had to appear as a firm, unyielding figure before my subordinates. That was a rule my boss had taught me, and it helped me both in life and in the corporate world.
If you don't establish authority from the start, people won't take you seriously or respect you.
Back to the topic, I asked in an equally low voice, "Do you know where my office is?"
She nodded in response.
"Then show the way."
"Yes, sir. Please follow me."
In United Academy, each professor had their own personal, luxurious office to conduct research freely. For combat class professors, there was even an underground training center with all the necessary facilities.
The Academy spared no expense to maintain its reputation as the number one institution.
As we walked, I couldn't help but notice.
She was trying to maintain a calm and composed act.
At first, I doubted it, but the way she warily glanced at me from time to time, and how her legs occasionally trembled, told me otherwise. She was indeed scared and tense.
But why? And from whom?
Was it me?
Hard to believe, but it seemed she was.
After I absorbed—or you could say partially absorbed—the blood essence of Azaroth, the Lord of the Abyss, my power level turned over completely.
It grew in leaps and bounds.
Azaroth is a calamity-grade existence, one that would require more than five warlocks to subdue. A warlock is a realm above a grandmaster, but don't be fooled by the one-realm difference. At higher levels, the power gap is exponential.
For instance, in terms of levels, the difference between level 1 and level 50 would be similar to the difference between level 50 and level 51.
So, you get how powerful an existence Azaroth is. And still, my dear brother, who gave me that warm smile, gifted me that blood essence even though he knew I was on the verge of death.
Seriously. It was an assassination attempt.
I was just meters—no, centimeters—away from death.
If it wasn't for Alastor's will aiding me...
But again, nothing is free.
Everyone I've met in this new world seems determined to teach me this principle. He made me take another oath—to avenge the Helsing family that had been wronged.
Tell me, how am I supposed to do that?
Tsk.
It's only been two weeks, and my life has already gotten this complicated.
No protagonist—oh no, I'm not calling myself one—but no transmigrated character has ever gone through such crazy deals in this short period.
Sigh.
"Status."

Unbelievable.
Just absorbing a fraction of the essence gave me such a massive boost in stats.
That's the power of a calamity-grade beast. And yet, more than half of Azaroth's essence is sealed inside my left hand by Clark.
Yeah, for now, I'm as good as one-armed; I can't use my left hand at all. At least, not until I reach a level where I can handle its power.
"Here."
She pointed towards a closed door to the left of the hallway. There was a nameplate beside the door, gold-plated, with the name Sir Alastor Van Helsing engraved on it.
So, this was my office, huh?
But then, it hit me—I never asked for her name.
Could be useful later.
"Good job, so your name was?"
"Sir Clark didn't inform you about me?"
She seemed confused, maybe expecting me to know everything beforehand. Well, after sealing the essence, Clark was so drained he just passed out on the floor. We hadn't even talked since.
But she answered nevertheless, her voice carrying a certain elegance.
"Martha, sir. I'm from Class A."
