Chereads / I Will Kill The Extra / Chapter 17 - My Time To Act...

Chapter 17 - My Time To Act...

Watching him first hand, he really is in a pretty sorry state.

I kept my distance, observing quietly.

According to the novel, he was supposed to get beaten up by all four of them. Afterward, he'd be rushed to the hospital, where he'd eventually meet the female lead.

And that's the reason why he won't be able to attend classes for a couple of days.

So, what should I do?

Help him?

Well if I do that I would potentially only increase the trouble for me later cause I will get in sight of some pretty troublesome ones.

So no, it's better to let things follow the storyline, and only stepping in to alter events relating to that Extra.

That way, I would still know what's going to happen, but I can stop the Extra from messing things up without creating a completely different storyline.

With that thought, I decided to nonchalantly head towards the S-Class.

That's when it hit me,

Wait.

What if I take Benedict Blue as my disciple?

Won't all my problems be solved?

I could train him since I already know exactly what he needs to learn and after that I could lead him to the opportunities that are rightfully his.

To fasten the process I can also guide him in matters involving emotional support.

I will be the catalyst to his coming-of-age.

And what would I get in return?

His trust. His loyalty. He'd owe me forever.

When he's strong enough, I could use him to avenge the Hellsing family and rebuild Steven Hart.

And with him as my disciple, I wouldn't need to worry about being exposed.

It's perfect.

I can't believe how genius I am—it's like I've found a cheat code to the matrix.

A smirk crept across my face, replacing my earlier emotionless expression.

With that decided, I waited for the right moment to make my move.

"With how pathetic your performance has been so far, I thought you'd be dropping out by now." Issac sneered, disgust evident in his voice as he continued to speak,

"See, this is exactly why I hate commoners—they never know their place, always clinging on and wasting resources,"

He had striking red hair, a trademark of the family he belonged to:

The Nova family of Red Demons.

The red symbolised the unique trait of the Nova family, but the reason they were feared as demons was also obvious.

Mercilessness, hunger for power, brutality—everything associated with demons was also synonymous with them.

Also the Red Knight Order under the Nova family was considered one of the strongest knight orders in the human nation, second only to those of the seven great families.

Isaac held that kind of status, and yet the insect standing before him refused to submit.

Again.

Just like last semester.

This bug had no talent, no power, no influence to speak of. And still, he had the nerve to hold his head high with that same pride and stubborn attitude.

It infuriated Isaac, who despised weakness and commoners.

So he was filled with questions.

Every other commoner he had ever come across had bowed their heads in his presence. But this guy?

Why?

What was it that made this ant so proud?

Issac was questioned and of course he wasn't the one to find out by patient or by talking out with him,

He was the true Nova after all.

Such a peaceful option wasn't there to begin with.

He swiftly launched a low kick straight into Benedict's unguarded stomach, sending him flying two metres back.

Benedict struggled to his feet, panting, his clothes ragged from the beating.

Frustration burned inside Benedict as the reality of his powerlessness hit him hard.

Did he even deserve to be here?

A flood of doubts swarmed his mind.

But again it didn't matter. If someone wanted to fight without reason, he wasn't going to surrender without a fight.

"You—this is the United Academy, not your Nova family's playground. If you don't back off now, I'll report you to the disciplinary committee."

A mocking smile crept across Isaac's face.

Yes,

This was the desperate and powerless look he was waiting to see.

"I wouldn't have attacked you if I cared about that," Isaac said, breaking into laughter.

His henchmen also quickly joined in, their laughter echoing through the courtyard.

"You really are insane."

Desperate, Benedict raised his hand, trying to conjure the strongest spell he could muster in that moment.

Grade III Spell: Fire Bird.

Though weaker in offensive power compared to other flame spells of the same grade, it had the advantage of quick casting time and accuracy.

In no time, a flaming bird formed in Benedict's hand, and he launched it towards Isaac.

But before it could even reach him, one of Isaac's henchmen dissolved it with a powerful fist strike.

And before Benedict could get time to react, a sharp pain tore through his stomach—the same spot as before.

Another of the henchmen had landed a brutal knee strike, sending him crashing to the ground.

Blood trickled from Benedict's mouth as he lay there, powerless, staring up at the sky.

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a faint smirk from the silent woman who hadn't spoken a word till now.

Her eyes were glowing.

'So she was preparing a spell all along', he thought as the area around him began to glow with a soft purple light.

'I guess I deserve this… for being so powerless,'

But nothing happened.

What?

He slowly opened his eyes, only to see an unfamiliar man standing before him.

The man had long grey hair and piercing red eyes that were fixed on Isaac and his lackeys. His hands rested casually in his pockets, as if none of this was even worth his effort.

But whatever the reason was, the temperature in the area suddenly dropped.

It was getting cold.

It didn't take long for everyone to notice the source of the sudden chill. It was the man standing right in front of them.

Finally, the man broke the silence.

"Gravity magic? At such a young age. What's your name, young lady?"

What?

A flood of questions raced through Isaac and the girl's minds.

He had dispelled the spell after it had already been cast?

Who was he?

Instinctively Isaac signalled the girl to stay silent and stepped forward.

"Who are you? If you don't know, I'm from the Nova family. If you care about your relatives, you'd better back off."

The man's lips curled into a smirk, his eyes looking down at Isaac like he was nothing.

That's when Isaac realised—he should have run earlier.

Cold.

"What... what are you doing?"

Isaac's voice cracked as his body temperature plummeted.

He dropped to his knees, clutching his chest, trying to fight off the unbearable cold that tightened around his heart.

Suffocation.

The blood flowing throughout his body was getting out of control.

The man hadn't even moved, yet Isaac's body felt like it was about to collapse.

Isaac's lips barely parted as he gasped for air, trying to say something, anything.

"He...lp... pl..."

Finally, the man spoke again, "Alastor Van Helsing. That's my name. And I'm a professor here. You can tell your family or report me—I couldn't care less."

His smirk remained as he walked towards Isaac's henchmen.

They wanted to protest, but the chilling fear gripped their hearts. Sweat poured from their brows as Alastor closed the distance.

They were terrified.

They wanted to run.

But their legs wouldn't move. It was as if their bodies no longer obeyed them.

Alastor's voice remained calm as he continued, "For breaking the academy's rules, you will be punished."

Thanks for reading.

And again, I hope you continue to do so.

Actually, I haven't been getting any features recently. So my other friends advice me to push threw and update more chapters a day.

And as you can see from my unusual update time, it's very difficult to do so.

I am busy IRL.

Ah, no just lazy. I think.

Anyway, so my point is if you could motivate me, it would be a huge help.

And how can you do so?

For now it's only power stones and comments.

Cheap right?
