The forest loomed before Marcus and Elara, its edges glowing faintly in the twilight. Flickers of firelight danced between the trees, giving the impression that the forest itself was alive and breathing. The oppressive heat radiating from within added an air of danger that made Marcus pause.
"Why do I feel like this is going to be worse than the temple?" Marcus muttered, brushing sweat from his brow.
Elara adjusted her sword at her side, her sharp eyes scanning the treeline. "Because it probably will be. Magical storms and fire-breathing animals don't exactly scream 'relaxing stroll.'"
"Cheer up, Host!" the System chimed in with its usual exuberance. "This is a prime opportunity to test your leadership skills and tactical prowess! Plus, think of all the loot waiting to be discovered!"
Marcus groaned, his boots crunching against the dry, scorched leaves underfoot. "You're way too excited about this. It's unnatural."
