A seed, like butterfly broke through cocoon,
like bamboo bud stretched out, when rain ceased croon,
thrived like wild grass bedewed with dew on lawn,
blooming like rose with hues of cloud of dawn.
A bud, like lotus blossomed under moon,
like maple leaf fluttered down in monsoon,
bloomed like lotus unfurled beauty in town,
fading like setting sun set in sundown.
Beauty wondered if petal condensed seed,
if seed of petal bloomed again like weed,
how long must seed slumber beneath the ground,
how long could butterfly flutter around.
She buried broken petal beneath mud,
waiting broken petal stretched out new bud.
