Willow beheld chirping birds went and came,
from branch to where red rose blossomed like flame,
and watched lovers trod arm in arm on street,
from street to where petals paved underfeet.
Willow listened larks sang with bugs in game,
as rose blossomed as scarlet as burnt flame,
and listened dew moistened topaz leaves sheet,
as dew dropped from petal to willow feet.
You were willow shielded rain overhead,
whose branches turned umbrella over grass bed,
whose leaves turned butterflies among flowers,
when rain fluttered like falling sakuras.
I was stray bird hovered over willow,
then sang with bugs laid on shaded meadow.
