Lanterns raised like the stars with gleam of light,
each lantern contained whole year's grieves in night,
and rode atop south wind carried fragrance,
through path of moonlight toward nine heavens.
Lanterns lit dark night brighter than daylight,
each lantern was firefly converged starlight,
and floated together over mountains,
toward peach blossom park in the distance.
You put lantern carried candle sorrow,
which shined among lanterns over meadow,
like star in stars adorned heaven fair street,
like light in lights red-stained floor underfeet.
I put lantern carried candlelight wish,
which sailed to moon like boat and swam like fish.
