I was chestnut tree transplanted on street,
whose hair of leaves danced through south mountain feet,
and as homesick as lost sailor on sea,
who saw blue ocean looked like jasmine tea.
I was love pea tree grew in southern land,
whose pea of thought buried in northern sand,
and as homesick as lost guest in desert,
who saw yellow sand looked like sweet dessert.
I was drifting swallow from north to south,
whose humming song echoed airstream at mouth,
and as homesick as prisoner in hell,
who reflected and at last went back hill.
And you were south mountain, chestnut tree's home,
red pea tree's home, and drifting swallow's home.
