Three days have passed since Caroline delivered all of the items Ren requested. Before she could even ask what they are needed for, he took them all and locked the doors in front of her.
However, before she left, Ren peeked his head out and said to come back in three days.
Since then no one has seen him. In free moments, Caroline wanted to check on him, but no matter how many times she knocked on the doors or tried to open them, she failed.
She was left with no other choice but to wait for three days till he had finished.
"Do you think he finally finished?"
"I suppose. Three days have passed. Look, smoke also has stopped coming from the chimney."
Currently, Caroline accompanied by Karoline were standing in front of the small house in the middle of the forest right behind the campus building.
Outwardly it didn't look like something had happened. It was too silent.
-Knock Knock Knock
"Ren. Are you finished?"
When Caroline called out, finally a sound appeared beyond the doors. It sounded heavy as if something big and heavy was going to open the doors.
But the one who opened was none other than Ren. However, Karoline and Caroline couldn't help but be surprised how different he was.
His hair was messy, pale expression, red eyes and big dark circles under eyes. The only shirt he had was nowhere to be seen, he stood in front of them.
"Ren!? What happened?"
"Caroline, please don't scream. Otherwise my head will explode."
He blocked his ears after Caroline's high worried voice reached him. Ren even took a step back to lean on the doors.
"What is this… familiar smell?"
Suddenly Karoline, who stood behind Caroline, caught a flying scent around Ren.
"Now that you mention…."
Caroline also took a sniff and it intensified when she came closer to Ren.
"Don't tell me…"
The scent was too familiar to not recognize it.
"Did you drink all the alcohol I brought!?"
One of the items Ren requested from Caroline was strong alcohol for disinfection by Ren's words. However, now seeing Ren's condition, it was painfully obvious that alcohol served a different purpose.
"What… Hic… Sorry. I didn't mean to, but… I couldn't let it go to waste."
"What are you talking about!? You are underage! You can't use alcohol! What are you even thinking!?"
"Ren, Caroline is right! You are too young for such things."
The situation was so serious that even Karoline's calm atmosphere turned serious as she glared at Ren.
"Girls, calm down. It's not that big of a deal."
"Not big?! For this we can throw you out of the academy!"
Even if the world has changed for Ren, the concept of underage drinking is still severe in this world. No one should go unpunished for it.
"Is it really that bad? I just took a sip… till it ended."
"Do you even hear yourself? Ahh! I can't! Sister, what should we do?"
Caroline turned to Karoline in search of answers. She herself was clueless. Ren definitely had a talent that could be polished into something monstrous. However, this behavior is unacceptable for Atlas Academy.
"I don't know. It would be a waste to expel him. The only way is for us to fix his… habit?"
Calling it Ren's habit was the correct decision by Karoline. More correctly would be that it is already part of Ren's personality.
Most people would try to change if they found themselves in Ren's place, however, Ren loved the way he lived previously, so changing his ways was unthinkable.
"Why are you talking like you have already decided to do something?"
"Do you really don't understand or you just act oblivious? This is bad for you! You shouldn't do something like that while growing up!"
"Did you both forget why you came here? Stop thinking about the details and look at the results."
He went back in the smithy and after a minute came out with full hands. Both women wanted to stop Ren from running away from their complaints, but couldn't say anything when remembering the real reason why they came.
When both of them saw two daggers in Ren's hand, they forgot about everything and were mesmerized by their beauty.
Two golden daggers with red leather handles connected to each other by a golden chain.
"This…"
"It's the weapon I worked on these past three days."
Snapping back to reality, Karoline took a device out of her pocket and scanned the daggers in Ren's hands.
"What!?"
Her reaction surprised Caroline, as she soon joined her shock. The weapon that Ren made was not only beautiful but also very valuable.
{Golden Brothers - Rarity Purple
Level: 60 MAX
Attack Damage: + 70
Battle Dexterity: + 50
Attack Speed: + 20%
Energy Consumption: - 50%
Skill: Growth - Chain can grow longer, grow shorter and become hard as long as the user's energy allows it.
Skill: Telekinesis - As long as the daggers are in contact with the user, the user gains the power of Telekinesis to control the daggers.}
"I told you that you need to trust me."
With a smug smile he walked towards the empty garden of the smithy. There he took a stance while holding one dagger in each hand.
Swiftly moving, he cut in a cross everything in front of him before extending chain length to throw the dagger.
While it was in the middle of flying, Ren used his free hand to control it with telekinesis to change its trajectory. Following, the dagger came back to his hand and this time he hardened the long chain creating a spear with sharp both sides.
He continued to demonstrate the power of the weapon for two girls for another five minutes. Meanwhile, they both couldn't avert their eyes, because what he was showing was something unheard of.
Both skills for the daggers were impressive on their own, but the weapon also was already upgraded till its maximum level. The cost of this kind of weapon can be tremendously high.
"So what do you say?"
"..."
"..."
Even after he had finished, both couldn't find any words. It was that impressive.
When Ren asked for materials and the smithy, they never thought that he would create something this good. No, they doubted he would even make a green rarity equipment.
"Hey, I asked, what do you say? Is it really that surprising that I actually managed to create something?"
"'Something'? These daggers could be considered as national treasures, yet you call them 'something'?!"
"I can't imagine how much they would cost. I don't think we could afford them even if we sold our house."
"Is that so? Then that's good!"
Sudden excitement coming from Ren, made two wonder what he was thinking about.
"What time is it?"
Yet what he asked was not even close to their imagination.
"10 AM. What are you planning?"
"What else other than selling them?"
"What!?" "Why!?"
"Why are you both screaming? My head hurts, please be quiet."
"Do you even understand what would happen if you sold them!?"
If a weapon of this quality came up, everyone would try their best in search of the creator. Be it guilds or even the Headquarters. As Ren was simply soon to be a student, he could be easily taken.
Right now, Karoline and Caroline understand that Ren is a hidden walking gem. Currently only they know the real results of his gift.
Someone who is worth millions is standing in front of them.
"That's why I will sell them in the Auction House."
Ren's plan was simple. He will use Atlas authority, which is two sisters, to place it in the Auction House. And the buyers will be attracted by the Auction House themselves.
In the game, every week came a notification about the best items on auction to make players understand if it was worth going there or not. And if in that news are shown Golden Brothers, then buyers will come there like children after candy.
"But before that, I have to place my signature."
The second most important thing for a blacksmith is their signature. The symbol that makes people recognize their work.
For Ren, his signature will mean way more here, because he is more than sure that it will be very infamous.
However, his signature wasn't that special. He made it on a whim and thought that it looked cool.
In a circle inside was drawn an upside-down triangle while on each side of the triangle had a circle.
He drew it on the blade near the handle. Because he used a black color, it stood out and everyone from close would notice the small circle there.
"And it's completed!"
Joy overtook him after finishing his first work in this world. It also turned out to be way better than expected.
He couldn't be more proud about his work.
"Will you really sell it?"
"Of course! I don't have any money and I need to repay to the both of you and to Polina. I also need to buy everything necessary for the start of the academy."
Selling it didn't sadden Ren at all. If he could create something like this, then that means he can do an even better job. Hence, there is no need to worry nor about money nor equipment for himself.
"I also need to ask you, Karoline, to be the one to put this in the Auction, because I will get too much attention. And they probably won't allow me to do so…"
"I can do that."
"And for the end…"
His gaze wandered to the far corner in the smithy. There was a single table and on it was an opened glass bottle.
"I have to clear my throat."
"No!"
