Chereads / I Woke Up in the Gacha Game, Now What? / Chapter 12 - The Auction House 2

Chapter 12 - The Auction House 2

[And with this, the time has finally come! It's time for the special items to take the entrance!]

"Finally…"

One hour was spent just for simple items, such as blue rarity armor, some accessories and gems.

There were also interesting crafting materials, but I don't have the money to buy them.

[First we want to present this!]

Curtains yet again opened and now on the pedestal was placed a golden katana sword.

"Wow, it's beautiful."

I couldn't help but agree with Caroline. It's not an exaggeration to say that it is the best looking katana I have ever seen.

However, I believe I can do a better job. Of course, not at the first time, but with more experience.

[Kraken's Katana - coming right from the Ice Mountains in the South. Level 10 and classified as an orange rarity item. Forged in the heart of frozen glaciers, this blade is said to have absorbed the essence of ancient warriors, granting its wielder unmatched agility and strength in battle.

Now, before we begin the bidding, let me remind you, weapons of this caliber do not come around often. Whether you're a seasoned warrior looking to elevate your arsenal or a collector seeking a masterpiece for your showcase, this is an opportunity you won't want to miss.

Are we ready? We'll start the bidding for 10,000 gold coins!]

"10 thousand!? Is this how valuable are orange rarity items?!"

"Yes, and it's worth is way higher, because it comes from the Ice Mountains."

"Is there a great blacksmith or what?"

"We don't know."

"What? What do you mean you don't know?"

I have no idea what the Ice Mountains are, but there has to be someone talented. Katana is very well made, not only the details but also I could say from afar that it is perfectly balanced.

"The person who placed it and every item they had, only allowed them to announce that they came from the Ice Mountains. Nothing more."

So, the real creator prefers to be an unknown person, but then there is another problem.

"Wouldn't guilds go in search of them, if they knew that they lived in the Ice Mountains."

"It's not that easy. Ice mountains are out of the territory humans live in. They are beyond even where people hunt monsters. The only way to get there is by approval of Headquarters."

Basically, they are in a safe place. No one can get them. However, they have to be in contact with Headquarters, if not, then how was the item delivered?

[20,000 one! 20,000 two!]

[There are 25,000 now!]

[Oh! 26,000. No! 28,000 coming from there.]

[30,000!]

If people are buying it with such a price, then other items coming from there have to be good.

"Are you getting nervous?"

"Of course! What will happen to my money, if they all spend their money here!"

[38,000! Can it go higher or will this item be sold here?]

[I heard 40,000! And…]

[It's sold for 40,000! Congratulations!]

"Holy shit. 40 thousand gold coins… I can't even imagine how much it is."

If a silver coin was equal to one dollar, then what was one gold coin equal to? 100 silver coins or 1000 silver coins?

Basically the katana was sold for a very large money sum.

"With all the academy's money we won't be able to buy it."

"Seriously? And here I thought that Atlas was the best academy."

"It is. However, even if we are the best, our money mostly goes away for students."

[For the next item, we present you something new and unexpected. I am sure that some of you here are specifically for this.]

"Hey, isn't it time?"

"Already?"

"What do you mean already? You had to say finally it's here!"

"No, Ren. There are 3 special items each time and they are sequenced by their worth."

"That means my daggers are more worthy than that katana. I knew it!"

"No, I am not talking about it. This is the second item, then something unknown is for the end."

"Hmm?"

The curtains again opened and now there were my golden daggers. How beautiful they are. I am feeling like a father who sees his kid perform.

[We present you - Golden Brothers. These remarkable purple rarity daggers have reached their maximum level of 60, making them a coveted treasure for any serious adventurer or collector.

What makes the Golden Brothers truly exceptional is their mysterious origin. Whispers abound as to where these daggers were crafted and by whom. Some say they were forged in the heart of a hidden enclave, while others believe they were gifted by ancient spirits to a long lost hero. The truth remains shrouded in enigma, adding to their allure.

Now, let's talk about their formidable skills. The first, Growth, allows the daggers to adapt to the needs of their wielder. These blades can elongate to reach distant foes or retract for swift, close quarters combat.

But that's not all! The second skill is nothing short of extraordinary - Telekinesis. As long as the Golden Brothers are in contact with their user, a bond is formed, granting the ability to control the daggers with mere thought.

We will commence the bidding for 5,000 gold coins!]

"5 thousand already!?"

"Right!? It should have been 10 thousand!"

How dare they lower their price! I didn't create them for that!

[10,000 immediately! Does someone want to bid higher?]

[I heard 15,000! Now it is 18,500!]

"I have to do it."

"What? What are you doing!?"

"20,000."

Pressing the bid button, the host turned towards our window.

[20,000!]

"What are you doing!? We don't have such money!"

"It's our item, why would we buy it?"

"Of course, we have to if we win!"

"Seriously!?"

"Yes! We don't have money like that!"

"Can we take back the bid?"

"... Ren."

I did something stupid. I am going to die. Karoline is just too scary. Who even thought of this stupid thing?

[20,000 one!]

"Hey, someone bid please!"

[21,000!]

"Thank God!"

Together with Caroline we fell back on the couch. Lesson learned, never become too greedy.

[25,000! Is this the final bid?]

[26,500! Heard you loud and clear!]

That little intense moment took all of my energy that I couldn't focus on the bidding now. Even Karoline sighed in relief.

I actually almost made a grave for myself with this.

[Sold for 26,500!]

"With this it ends. How much do they take from the final price?"

"30%"

"Less than I thought…"

"Wait, are we just going to ignore that it was sold for 26 thousand gold coins!?"

Caroline does have a point. I also now officially can drink in their presence for today.

"Indeed. We need to celebrate it."

"Ladies, then I propose a glass of this fine wine for the victory."

I need to fill my stomach with this to take off the tension. I hate the thoughts of mine about what I would do, if no one would raise the price.

"I will not refuse."

"Then I'll take one too."

I brought all three glasses to them and sat back down. Auction was not over. I also want to enjoy this wine.

"Bleeergg…. too sweet…"

I fucking hate sweet things. Yes, of course, wine would be sweet, what did I think?

-Knock Knock

"Pardon the intrusion. Here is your money."

"Thank you."

That was quick. I thought that we would receive it after a day or two, but in a mere minutes. They really work fast.

The personnel brought a suitcase filled with gold coins. By my calculations there should be around 18 thousand coins.

"Beautiful."

Is the only word I could say. Now that I finally have money I can do whatever I want. However, firstly I need to repay all my debts. Karoline, Caroline and Polina-senpai.

What kind of a person would I be if I forget about them?

[And with this we have finally come to the last item! Behold!]

The curtains yet again opened and this time, there was no weapon or equipment. There was a ball, a simple iron ball.

"What is that?"

Girls also had no idea what it was. Then I will not know about it for sure.

[You all may wonder what is this, why is it here, but let me tell you. This seemingly ordinary ball is the core of the second Catastrophe.]

"What!?"

"Why is it here!?"

But after revealing what it was, both of them jumped up.

Second Catastrophe? There was more than one? To be honest, that isn't very surprising.

[As you all remember, The Second Catastrophe cleared the whole continent of Africa in a week. Thousands of soldiers died, but in the end humanity took the victory.

And today, we are putting the titan's core here.

Don't be fooled. We didn't hide it for years just to put it on auction today. Instead, we were given it by the Headquarters to sell it.

You may ask why? Then I'll say it to you.

Hundreds of people have died in a process of turning the core into a material. Not once was it damaged in that time.

So, whoever will want to place a bet, be ready to face the consequences!

Starting bid is 1,000 gold coins!]

"That small ball killed hundreds of people? What kind of a monster was the Second Catastrophe?"

At first I thought that he was exaggerating but the look on Karoline's and Caroline's faces told otherwise. It really must have been hell.

"Word 'monster' would be underestimating it. Not only was it quick and strong, but it had a very strong ability. It could change planes whenever it wanted. While we didn't see it, the titan could easily observe us from different planes. Such a horrific ability it had."

Changing planes? That is way too overpowered. Then it also must have spent a lot of time living there.

Imagining how it had a couch there to relax while watching humans, makes me want to laugh.

"!"

-PHWACK

"10,000!"

Isn't this a God sent gift for me?
