Seven Generations of Gods
Before Amaterasu, Tsukiyomi, and Susanoo—rulers of this world—the seven generations of gods had forged the very fabric of existence. Yet, as time passed, their influence waned. The reason was simple: the Lord God of Heaven no longer required their development.
The Lord God of Heaven, an Absolute Being, harnessed the powers of the gods to evolve into an even greater form: the Absolute God of Gods. This transformation signaled a shift in purpose, one that would ultimately reshape the very world they ruled.
To address this shift, the path was clear: they could no longer tread the same road as before. Thus, the Lord God of the Imperial Palace initiated a grand transformation throughout the realm. Any god daring to obstruct this plan would pay a grave price.
For every deity, adherence to established paths was paramount. Deviating from these trajectories would invite catastrophic consequences—this was the crux of the situation, and the implications were undeniably ominous.
Deep within Gao Tianyuan, a select few had the privilege of witnessing the unfolding events. The gods, their auras calm yet indifferent, began to awaken. Each emanated an overwhelming power, embodying the essence of god kings—terrifying beings capable of consuming all.
Among them stood Thanatos, whose presence radiated an aura of endless death. "A mere gathering of ants," he scoffed, disdain lacing his voice. "Eight million gods? Just eight million insignificant insects. They are hardly worth mentioning!"
Thanatos's contempt was palpable, especially now that Hades had given the order for the underworld to reveal its full might. The dynamic of the conflict had shifted dramatically; this was no longer a mere game.
The Battle of Gods and Earth had evolved. The underworld, facing the vast world of Japanese mythology, was now in a position of dominance. Despite the participation of powerful entities like Dragon God, the outcome remained unchanged—a crushing defeat for their opponents.
"Die!" Thanatos declared, his gaze piercing as strands of divine energy began to consume everything in sight, devouring the very laws of existence.
In the ensuing silence, he remained emotionally detached. To him, death was trivial—nothing to be feared.
"Hypnos, how fares your domain?" he inquired, breaking the stillness.
"It has been handled," Hypnos replied, his own divine power weaving dreams that ensnared countless gods, luring them into an eternal slumber. In their dreams, they would vanish, forever lost to the beautiful illusions crafted by Hypnos.
Together, the twin gods embodied a formidable force. With their divine energies fully realized, they had the potential to display the strength of god kings—an undeniable threat.
"But…" Hypnos paused, sensing the lingering presence of powerful auras. "These must belong to the seven generations of gods. Yet, even they are inconsequential before His Majesty. They are merely ants in the grand scheme of things."
Thanatos nodded, his tone dripping with disdain. "A pile of refuse, hardly deserving of our attention. Such pests can be dealt with at our leisure."
Their arrogance was well-founded; the underworld had grown into a formidable realm. As members of this expansive domain, the twin gods were right to feel invincible.
"However," Hypnos cautioned, "we should not underestimate them. It is our duty to ensure the complete defeat of Gao Tianyuan and Dragon Palace, to fulfill our responsibility to His Majesty."
"Agreed," Thanatos replied, their resolve unwavering.
Under their command, a terrifying conflict unfolded. The black-and-white ghost envoys split into countless avatars, fierce warriors unafraid of death. The bull-headed and horse-faced races surged onto the battlefield, and every specter of the underworld joined the fray, including the 3,000 dream gods and the seventy-two pillar demon gods.
While the latter were engrossed in their research, their efforts promised to elevate them to the rank of god kings—or even higher, to the level of Primordial beings, should their experiments succeed.
This was the current state of the underworld: vigilant and ever-evolving. Despite the apparent stability of their realm, the underworld gods remained on guard, continuously striving for strength and supremacy.
