Chapter 283 - Darkness Devours Seven Generations Of Gods

The Standing God of the Country

The Seven Generations of Gods consist of notable deities: Fūjin Wild God, Ubidi Youshen, Subhizhiyoushen, Dojin the God of Earth, Da Dou the God of Discernment, Silt Mother Tuoliu God, and Haniyasu no kami Ancient Clay God. Among them, Izanagi and Izanami also hold significant places in this pantheon.

In total, there are twelve gods within the Seven Generations, known as the Seven Generations of Gods. They rank just below the Twelve Gods of Betsujin. However, Izanami was slain by Yan Mo in the underworld, and the authority of the underworld god was subsequently consumed by Yan Mo. Since then, a fragile peace has settled.

Now, only eleven gods remain, having gathered once more in response to Amaterasu's call. They had been lurking in the depths of Gao Tianyuan, their divine powers potent yet restrained. They were not merely hiding; they were under the control of the Lord God of Heaven, forcibly compressed into this secluded realm, a reality that weighed heavily upon them.

Today, however, necessity beckoned them to step forward once more.

"Hehehe" Dojin chuckled sarcastically. "When we are deemed unnecessary, we are cast aside; now, when they require us, we are summoned. Such a feeling is utterly tedious—like killing the donkey after it has outlived its usefulness."

His indifference was clear; despite possessing great power, he felt helpless against the will of the Lord God. The difference between Primordial Gods and mere god kings was vast, an insurmountable chasm. Even a momentary gap in power could lead to annihilation—this was the undeniable reality.

"Indeed," Huo Daishen replied coolly. "It's best not to dwell on this. Some matters are better left unspoken; at least we can still converse."

Though his words were composed, the living god's expression betrayed his disdain. Yes, he was alive, yet it was a state worse than death—an ironic existence, reduced to a mere tool.

From the outset of their creation, after fulfilling their purpose, they were forced into eternal slumber, only to be awakened in times of crisis. This bitter irony was not lost on them; it invoked feelings of nausea and discontent among the gathered deities.

"Enough," an indifferent voice interjected. The Changli God of the Kingdom silenced the gathering. They understood that further discussion was unnecessary; some topics were best left untouched.

As the leader of the Seven Generations of Gods, Changli God possessed formidable power—near-invincible divine energy. Yet, he recognized that his might, however immense, had led him to a grim conclusion: even at the pinnacle of divine kingship, he remained a puppet to the Lord God of Heaven. He sought transformation, yearning to surpass his master and regain autonomy.

The goal was clear: self-improvement. Even if he were to serve, he aspired to outgrow his master, to become so powerful that he could dominate any foe.

"Let's end this battle," Changli God announced decisively. "If we delay any further, complications will arise."

"Yes!" The other gods nodded in agreement, ready to follow his lead.

As the eleven gods began to depart, a sudden wave of unease washed over them. It felt as though an unseen force had swallowed them whole, plunging them into an abyss of darkness.

The darkness was overwhelming, and disbelief washed over the seven generations of gods as they realized the magnitude of the force they faced. "Is this the power of a Primordial God? How can this be?" Changli God gasped, recognizing that their foe was not just a mere deity but a Primordial being.

Panic surged through them as the endless darkness enveloped them completely, erasing the presence of the Seven Generations of Gods from existence.

At that moment, the gods—once feared and revered—were extinguished, leaving behind an eerie silence. The struggle was over, their fate sealed, and the world continued unaware of the calamity that had just unfolded.
