In silence, a figure emerged, exuding an air of endless calm. It was Cronus.
He regarded the gods before him with a light smile. "I never expected my offspring to be so remarkable. Bell and Athena truly shine!"
Indeed, it was Bell and Athena seated on their thrones, and Cronus nodded with a sense of quiet pride. To be honest, he had never anticipated their brilliance. Bell, a natural god king, and Athena, a formidable mother goddess, had surpassed him in several respects. Given time, they would undoubtedly outgrow their father.
"Titan God King!"
The two god kings felt a weight of respect. They had not anticipated the presence of the Titan King at the God King Banquet.
This gathering was a convergence of divine power, where every god king was expected to attend. Bell and Athena, despite being the weakest, had arrived first, not out of arrogance but from their understanding of the significance of the event.
Cronus swept his gaze over them, settling quietly on his throne, devoid of emotional fluctuation.
As strands of divine power coalesced, Hades made his entrance, arriving neither early nor late, unbothered by the order of arrivals. He surveyed the assembly with a calm demeanor.
Upon seeing Hades, Bell and Athena exchanged uneasy glances. While they respected Cronus's might, they felt an acute awareness of Hades's formidable presence. He was the most terrifying god king, worthy of their utmost attention.
"Hehehe"
Cronus smiled warmly at Hades. "It's been a while. As I suspected, you've come closer to your goals. Your journey seems shorter than mine, much like these two juniors."
Hades took his seat, replying, "Father, it's good to see you again. You've certainly changed."
Cronus remained silent, smiling enigmatically as he regarded Bell and Athena. His thoughts were inscrutable; the Titan King was not easily understood.
A smile graced his lips as he awaited the proceedings. Hades, calm as ever, observed his younger relatives, who felt an uncomfortable mix of reverence and unease. It was not that they were dismissive of their lineage; rather, they sensed a strange detachment, as if everything around them was inconsequential.
Yet, they knew these feelings were ultimately meaningless.
The God King Banquet held little substantial significance; it served primarily as a social gathering where the god kings could observe one another. The actual implications? Largely trivial. After all, only Zeus would go so far as to arrange such an event, and even then, it felt more like an embarrassment than a grand gathering.
But one thing was certain: if Zeus called for the banquet, no one could afford to miss it. Failing to attend would bring ridicule, but even worse, it would be a loss of face.
Amidst this, the god kings shared a common disdain for Zeus, an upright god king whose folly was both amusing and pitiful.
"Hmm"
Poseidon's figure gradually materialized. "As I anticipated, he appears at the end. Father, it's been a long time!"
Cronus regarded Poseidon with intrigue. "You've stepped onto the path of the Evil God, and you're only one step away from a breakthrough. I find your essence fascinating; I'm eager to see if you can truly take that step."
"Hehehe"
Poseidon smiled, maintaining a calm demeanor. With his arrival, Uranus followed suit, scanning the assembly in silence. His gaze lingered on Bell for a moment, seemingly lost in thought, before moving on.
Uranus, like Cronus, appeared to be contemplating something profound. Just then, a terrifying presence loomed—Typhon had arrived. He swept his gaze across the gathering, a mocking smile on his lips. "As expected! Zeus is as tedious as ever—a true bore!"
With Typhon's entrance, seven of the god kings were present; only Zeus remained absent.
This was the outcome Zeus desired. In his mind, he was the protagonist, destined to make a grand entrance. Yet, to everyone else, he seemed more like a jester, trying desperately to garner attention.
In truth, no one in the assembly took Zeus seriously. In the context of this divine battle, he paled in comparison to Bell and Athena.
