"Hmm"
Hades spoke calmly, "Poseidon, you understand that our alliance could bring about monumental changes. This partnership may reshape the landscape of the divine."
Hades wasn't joking. If he and Poseidon truly allied, the other six god kings would likely feel compelled to unite as well. In this battle of gods, aside from Hades, Poseidon might be unique, but fundamentally, not much has changed about him.
Is Poseidon an Evil God? Yes. But until he transcends to the primordial level, he cannot freely navigate the Chaos Sea. In essence, he remains bound to the limitations of the world.
In contrast, Hades's situation is entirely different. The Underworld has surpassed the confines of the greater world. No matter the circumstances, Hades's will cannot be easily swayed by outside forces. His destiny is no longer dictated by the world's whims. This autonomy is the hallmark of Hades; he can choose whether to engage or withdraw from conflict at will.
Of course, Hades will participate; it's a matter of dignity. At their level, maintaining face is crucial, and some degree of involvement is expected.
"Hehehe"
Poseidon smiled lightly. "I'm well aware of that, but to me, it's inconsequential. I don't regard the others as significant. They are merely weaklings. Except for the Father God, even Uranus is inconsequential. All I need is to take my final step, and everything else is irrelevant."
"Hmm"
Hades's interest was piqued. Poseidon's breakthrough depended on finding Pontus, the Primordial God of the Ocean. If he could absorb Pontus, Poseidon would elevate to a higher realm.
Hades recognized that their goals were fundamentally aligned. While he sought to absorb the divine powers of the Underworld and Tartarus, Poseidon aimed for a different kind of transformation. As an Evil God, the strength he would gain from absorbing Pontus would be truly formidable.
"Hmm"
After contemplating briefly, Hades nodded. "I'll need the Gate of Heaven, the Heart of the Ocean, and the Water of Hades. All three treasures are essential."
"Agreed!" Poseidon responded without hesitation. While the Heart of the Ocean held some significance, its loss wouldn't affect him greatly.
"Happy cooperation."
"Happy cooperation."
Thus, the two god kings forged an alliance. Hades didn't concern himself with who would possess the information about Pontus; what mattered was that their mutual objectives were clear.
As strands of divine power enveloped him, Hades returned to the Underworld.
"Husband!"
Persephone and Yan Mo approached him. Hades stated calmly, "Prepare for battle. It's time to conclude the conflict between heaven and earth. This game has gone on long enough."
"Understood," they replied, nodding in agreement. As Hades departed again, they sensed no need for further inquiries; their curiosity was superfluous.
After Hades left, Persephone reflected, "It seems the battle between heaven and earth is indeed nearing its end. For my husband, the next priority is to address matters here."
Yan Mo exhaled a wisp of green smoke, smiling. "Absolutely! I agree. For Hades, the divine conflict holds significance. He has achieved perfection in terms of law, the divine realm, and all other aspects. The mythical world represents the final step toward harnessing the power of faith."
This is crucial for Hades. Therefore, certain matters must be approached with care and consideration.
Face matters greatly. While Hades values the power of faith, he understands it may not significantly enhance his abilities. The critical aspect for him is self-control. Once he accomplishes this, he can view the power of faith as somewhat beneficial, but ultimately inconsequential.
As for the divine war? It may lack intrinsic value for Hades. Still, his desire to participate stems from a need to satisfy his own sense of honor.
Hades doesn't need to engage in every conflict; many of these issues are trivial to him. His character is defined by a calm demeanor, taking things step by step. Ultimately, transcending one's self is the most vital pursuit.
For Hades, everything else pales in comparison. He views the godly war more like a spectator sport. He can ignore it, but participation is necessary to uphold his honor.
Failing to engage could create an awkward situation. While it wouldn't inflict tangible harm on Hades, the loss of face is a concern he prefers to avoid. At this level, dignity is paramount; the repercussions of losing it could be irreparable.
