The supreme god suddenly opened his eyes, and an infinite divine power cascaded down upon Hell. In that instant, his expression darkened. He was the most exalted being in this realm—the Lord God of Heaven.
Although there were no absolute gods within the vast world of Japanese mythology, transcendent beings existed across parallel universes, multiverses, and different dimensions. The Lord God of Heaven understood his destiny: he would inevitably become intertwined with his adversary, drawing strength from them, as all dimensions converged. This was the mission of every Primordial God.
To this end, the Lord God of Heaven orchestrated an elaborate scheme, involving the three Yushen—Enma, Yamata no Orochi, and others. He believed that as the Age of Gods progressed, culminating in the era of Hyakki Yagyo or Hundred Ghosts Walking at Night, he would ascend further. His confidence was absolute; he relied on the transformation granted by the transcendent Lord God of Heaven.
Yet, everything he had meticulously prepared was now slipping from his grasp. After breaking through to become an Absolute God, he would gain the strength to confront the transcendent God of Heaven. In that clash, he believed he could emerge victorious, solidifying his reign as the sole Lord God.
However, the current state of affairs was disastrous. Everything had crumbled, and he could not accept this reality.
Many held the belief that the great world was unique, a singular entity within the Chaos Sea. This notion was profoundly mistaken. In truth, countless great worlds existed, each developing in its own parallel manner, forming a vast multiverse. Only by transcending the limitations of their worlds could beings truly enter the Chaos Sea, achieving genuine transcendence—a goal pursued by nearly every god.
The Lord God of Heaven was engulfed by fury. All his plans had unraveled, leaving him unable to progress.
"Hoo Huh"
He forced himself to calm, his eyes flashing with anger and murderous intent. He murmured, "Gods from other great worlds have taken Hell. The most critical task now is to reclaim it. Only when Hell is restored can we step back into the original script, and fully transition into the era of ghosts from the Age of Gods."
In the world of Japanese mythology, three eras unfolded: the initial age of Takamagahara Gods, the era of Hyakki Yagyo or Hundred Ghosts Walking at Night, and finally, the future human era characterized by technology. Initially, he chose the Age of Gods, and as a god, the path to becoming an Absolute God was straightforward.
Regrettably, while his parallel self had succeeded, he was now relegated to the era of Hyakki Yagyo, Hundred Ghosts Walking at Night, or the human age. The era of monsters in Hyakki Yagyo stemmed from the Age of Gods, making it the most suitable choice.
Why did this transformation into a transcendent being seem so exciting to the Lord of Heaven? It stemmed from inherent issues within the very fabric of the world. The Lord God, the pinnacle of the Primordial Gods, was born from this flaw—malnutrition during the world's creation left him at the apex but not transcendent.
Despite being at the top of the Primordial Gods, one could steadily develop to eventually become an Absolute God. This, however, was not the path for the other Primordial Gods.
"My lord!"
As the Lord God of Heaven's fury flared, Ebisu, Daikokuten, Bishamonten—three gods of good fortune—recognized their position. Before the Lord God, they were insignificant, mere puppets carrying out his will.
"Um," the Lord God replied indifferently, glancing at Ebisu, Daikokuten, Bishamonten, and the Changli God of Heaven who had also arrived. His expression remained cold. "Find traces of Hell. Remember! Retrieve it at all costs. I want no issues. If you can't bring it back, don't return."
"Yes!"
The four gods bowed respectfully, fear evident in their demeanor. They fully understood the immense power wielded by the Lord God of Heaven. Though they were also Primordial Gods, they were not of the same dimension; the disparity was as vast as the heavens and the earth.
With a disdainful snort, the Lord God of Heaven watched as the four departed. A chilling killing intent flickered in his eyes. "Otherworldly gods, huh? Let's see if you're prepared enough. Now that you've made your moves, what are your intentions? Do you seek to occupy this great world of faith? Show me."
He refrained from immediate action. To unleash his divine power would impose too great a burden on the world, making it an inappropriate response. If he were to act, he would need to venture into the vast, chaotic starry sky, reaching the edge of the Crystal Wall system. The destruction of the great world would create insurmountable pressure on all existence.
The Lord God of Heaven should have been an Absolute God. His divine power surpassed that of Gaia, making Hades a mere shadow in comparison. Yet, the constraints he faced made such actions feel perilous.
The road from being a god king to achieving primordial status was arduous, and now that path lay before him. If Hades failed to grasp this opportunity, it would be a bewildering twist of fate, even amidst the relentless struggle.
