Chapter 147 - Will Zeus Be Stabbed By His Son?

"Sure!"

"Only!"

"I want Lord Hades to give up the position of God King."

"What can you offer?"

At that moment, the gate of the Underworld opened, and Hypnos stepped out. After respectfully greeting Hades, he turned to Prometheus with an indifferent and calm expression. His faint words seemed to imply something significant.

Prometheus smiled and replied, "According to our agreement, the one who reaches the top first can gain more support. So how about using 10% of Zeus's treasury to make a purchase?"

The corners of Zeus's mouth twitched slightly; that was a treasure trove! While it might not be useful for him directly, what about the future? He had many followers to nurture, and this was essential.

However, Zeus was a decisive individual. He knew that since he had handed over all the rights to Prometheus, he should not speak casually; otherwise, everything would be meaningless, and Prometheus would have to handle it alone.

Prometheus smiled slightly, sensing Zeus's discomfort but recognizing that he had no intention of stopping. He thought to himself, "Master Zeus! You have to hold on. There are some things I can't say; otherwise, it will become very troublesome if these people catch wind of it."

If he said too much, others would take notice. So what was the best way? It was to keep them in the dark. When they didn't know, outsiders couldn't see it either—this was absolutely essential!

"10% of the treasure…"

"Can!"

Hypnos nodded indifferently, accepting the exchange.

From beginning to end, Hades merely observed quietly, as if he were a mascot, showing no intention of participating in these matters.

If Prometheus and Metis were the gods of wisdom under Zeus, the most outstanding of them all was Aether, the brother of all the gods of the Underworld. He was the most remarkable among them.

Although he was the god of space, his wisdom was equally impressive.

Because of this, Hades understood that if he wasn't adept at something, he shouldn't involve himself too much. No matter what, Hades was the Lord of the Underworld, a supreme god king.

After all, there are aspects he excelled in and others in which he did not.

As a god king, he didn't need to know everything; maintaining his invincible power was sufficient. There were countless gods and infinite crystal wall systems. Among them, there must be someone capable of assisting him, as long as he could effectively utilize them.

Human kings must consider whether their subjects would rebel after experiencing change.

For god kings, it suffices for them to observe, as the god king is a supreme powerhouse. Such an invincible being has no need to be concerned about all these matters.

This illustrates the fundamental difference between god kings and human kings.

"As for how to persuade Master Hades to give up the position of God King…"

"One of the treasures!"

Prometheus stated earnestly, "How about 10% of Lord Zeus's treasures being handed over to Hades?"

Zeus felt a pang in his heart; his mouth twitched slightly. There was nothing he could do! Of the total 30% of the treasures, even if he became a god king, he would only receive 40%. Hades would have 50%, which was incredibly frustrating.

Hypnos smiled and replied without hesitation, "Of course."

Prometheus beamed and then turned his attention to Poseidon. As the waves churned, a refined figure emerged: it was Nereus. He bowed slightly and said, "Master Poseidon, I apologize for my lateness."

"No problem."

Poseidon stepped back calmly, while Nereus smiled and said, "Prometheus."

"Nereus!"

Prometheus looked serious, aware that Nereus was not easy to deal with.

This man, known as the old man of the sea, symbolized the friendliness of the ocean.

His divine power was formidable.

Among the twelve main gods, he was also extremely strong, though his power had been absorbed by Poseidon due to that friendliness, which weakened him.

However, he had recovered significantly over the years.

After all, he had a solid foundation.

Given that, his recovery speed was naturally rapid.

But Prometheus knew all too well that Nereus was a formidable opponent.

For Hades, their advantage lay there.

What they needed was to pay the least price, and that price was at least 20% of the treasure.

However, when faced with Poseidon, both sides had to consider their positions—one wanted more, while the other wanted to give less, as their circumstances were entirely different.

It became a war of words. The exchange between Prometheus and Nereus seemed more intense than the previous deal. They engaged in a verbal duel until they finally managed to agree on a trade involving 10% of the treasure.

Though the transaction was complete, Zeus secured the position of God King. In hindsight, the cost of this position seemed almost trivial, as if it were worthless.

Yet, this was the position of God King, and it was incredibly significant for Zeus and Prometheus. They didn't care about the process or the appearance; winning the position of God King so simply was the best outcome imaginable.

The position of God King was paramount. As for other treasures? As long as the God King title was in his hands, everything else was inconsequential.

Thus, the position of the king of gods was established.

And, Cronus, the Titan king, had left behind vast treasures. In the end, Hades received 50%, Poseidon obtained 40%, and Zeus was left with only 10%. He truly turned pale with frustration, but there was nothing he could say.

Due to Zeus's real reaction, everyone avoided his gaze.

Hades quietly mused, "It seems Prometheus knows something about the position of the god king, but I'm more curious about what will happen to Zeus next."

He adopted a spectator's attitude, finding the unfolding drama quite interesting! Becoming a god king was just the beginning; Gaia's revenge and various resistances were merely part of the journey. More importantly, how would Zeus react in the future?

To know: the fine tradition of heirs replacing their fathers to become god kings has been passed down in this world. Even if Cronus never cursed Zeus, the curse still lingers. It remains to be seen whether Zeus can rise to the occasion.

In any case, Hades and Poseidon would be watching the spectacle.
