Chapter 6 - Guilty Feeling

Duk!

Gwen closed the car's door after bringing Helena back to her car, accompanied by Max and Zach.

"I swear to God! I didn't do anything to her! I–I was just about to kiss her but then she suddenly passed out!" Max shouted in panic.

"She drank too much before we hit the dance floor. So, Don't worry…" Gwen explained to him.

"Really??"

"Eum."

"What did she do here?" Asked Zach.

"I was just accompanying her to meet her date at the club but then we caught him making out with another girl before they met up. She was frustrated so she drank a lot before she pulled me to the dance floor."

"Really?"

"Eum."

"Who was that jerk?!"

Gwen was a bit taken aback when Max shouted in anger after knowing that info. He instinctively came forward but luckily, Zach held him from Gwen.

"Max, You don't have to shout," said Zach, pushing him away slowly from Gwen.

"Ah I'm sorry…I got too carried away."

"I don't know much about it, maybe you can talk to her yourself, next time."

"Are you sure you can take her home?" Zach suddenly interrupted her.

"I'll take her to my apartment. I can drive."

"Alright….be careful."

Gwen smiled at them before getting into the car and drove away from Arthur and Max. He felt a bit upset because he was so close to kissing her but failed due to the incident and he couldn't blame anyone for it.

—

Moving crowds

The smell of liquor

Noisy turned slow music

"I've liked you for so long," he whispered while leaning in closer but then, everything turned black.

"Huh?!" Helena woke up shocked and found herself in a familiar yet unfamiliar room, "This isn't my room!"

"Right, It's mine," Gwen came in with breakfast on a tray.

"Ah…you scared me…" Helena laid down on Gwen's bed again. "What happened?"

"Shouldn't I be the one who asked you that?!" Gwen sat on the side of the bed, enjoying one of the bread she served as breakfast for Helena.

"Ah…I remember!" Helena quickly got up again from bed, "That tall guy! He must be the prince!"

"How could you be sure about that? He looks familiar but I think he's not the prince."

"Do you think so?"

"Yea…what if he isn't?"

"To be honest, I couldn't remember his face…" Helena was spacing out, trying to remember the guy's face.

"You drank too much last night."

"Right? What does he look like?" Her eyes got bigger in excitement.

"He's tall…maybe around…I don't know–more than 180cm tall…He was kind of bulky I think, but not that scary because his body was proportional. He's got tanned skin…" Gwen was slowly spacing out. Her memory shifted from thinking about the figure of Max to Zach.

"A sweet smile…"

"He smiled at you?!" Gwen was taken aback when Helen shouted in disbelief. "Was he trying to flirt with you too?!"

"Ah no! Not at all! I-I think I was thinking about a different person!"

"Who?"

"Nevermind! Anyway! He's tall, He's got tanned skin–A bit clumsy I think? His face kind of resembles a maltese dog."

"A Maltese dog?? That's cute!"

"Yeah…he is kind of…cute…I think," Gwen shook her head trying to shoo away Zach's figure that has been occupying her mind since last night. "Anyway I have to go to work."

"Oh…okay…thank you for taking me home last night."

"Please put the apartment key under the rug."

"Okay."

—

Arthur was putting the last block and took a picture of it, "I think it's done! We just need to think about the materi–" He turned around and caught Max spacing out while he was talking to her. "Are you still thinking about Helena?"

"How is she?"

"Why are you asking me?? Her friend took her home last night. She should be okay," Arthur fixed several things from his project blocks.

"Aaahhh I am upset!!" Max shouted in frustration while Arthur sighed in disbelief. Talking about being upset, He should've been the one who felt that way too since he failed to kiss Gwen.

"I'm gonna grab some coffee," Arthur threw his marker away and walked out of Max's studio office. He walked down along the street and then stopped in front of an electronic shop where a display TV was showing the news about The Finding tradition.

He remembered how Gwen kept guessing about his identity even though she is not serious with it. "If I reveal it…will she believe me?"  Arthur raised both of his shoulders and walked to Gwen's cafe. He exchanged greetings with some of the guards before entering the cafe.

"Welcome–" Their eyes naturally locked to each other whenever they meet. Arthur walked to the counter and stopped right in front of Gwen, "Hi~"

"What do you want to order?"

"Eum…" Arthur was a bit embarrassed since Gwen did not respond much to his greeting. "The regular…"

"Wait a minute…" She processed his order and handed it to her co-workers. "Anything else?"

"Eum. Can we talk for a moment?"
