Chereads / Finding The Prince of Astoria / Chapter 8 - A Date with Arthur

Chapter 8 - A Date with Arthur

"Arthur Frederick Zachary?!"

Gwen threw herself on the bed while Helena was busy trying on her outfit for the fashion event next week, "Yeah, that's his full name."

"You think he's the prince?"

"I don't know…didn't he come to your brother's wedding? He married his sister right?"

"He didn't come because he was studying abroad."

"Ah…I see."

"But I think the probability is 50:50," Helena took off her gown and sat on Gwen's chair.

"Why do you think so?"

"Look at this…" Gwen typed Arthur's name and Astoria on the search engine, "There are soooo many people who have the same name as him! As The Prince of Astoria of course many parents of sons want them to grow up like this. He might be the one and he might not…"

"So what should I do?"

"Just accept him! He wants you to decide the place, right??"

"Eum!"

"Asked him to have a date at his home!"

"You mean I have to come to his place??"

"Yeah!"

"Why?"

"You can get to know more about him from his house! Some men don't even want the girls come to their place. That's why they prefer to have a date outside and in a hotel for a more intimate date. If he agrees with your request, That means he's serious with you."

"But what if he's the prince??"

"So what?? Hei, let me tell you that the Queen's job is just to stay by the King's side. The King will do everything! Don't think too much about it! Remember! The probability is 50:50! You're going to regret it if you don't snatch it! That feeling when you see someone who used to head over heels for you ends up with someone else–Trust me, It's the worst feeling ever."

Gwen bit her lips because she was hesitant. It's not that she doesn't like it because she silently has a crush on Arthur. She needs time to process everything because she didn't expect that Arthur will have the same feeling as her. "So, Should I try it?"

"Yes! You should! Go for it! While me–I'm still searching for that tall–"

"I think I remember his name."

"Really?? Who?!"

"I think he called him Max–"

"Max–MAXIMILIAN??!"

"I-I don't know his full name. Do you know him?"

"Not really. But he's the son of the Economic Minister. We met once for The King and Queen's wedding anniversary when we were kids but then I heard he studied abroad. He's the cousin of the prince, His father is the little brother of the King."

"H-He what??"

—

On the next day, Gwen was spacing out when the cafe wasn't as crowded as usual. She can't stop thinking about the info from Helena about Max and Arthur.

"He said he was accompanying his cousin. Max is the cousin of the prince…Zach didn't come to his sister's wedding because he was studying abroad and Max was also studying abroad–Oh? Welcome!" Her concentration broke when a customer came in. He was a guy in his 20s. "What do you want to order?"

"Iced Americano, Tall size and eum…Asian dolce, medium–I'll use credit card," he took out of his wallet and handed thd card to Gwen.

She was about to process his order until she saw the owner's name carved on the card, "Arthur Frederick Zachary?"

"I'm not the prince," He laughed because he kind of expected the reaction, "Having the same name as the Prince is quite annoying, you know? Especially in the finding season like this. They thought I was him."

"But you're probably him."

"I am not…please–" He laughed looking a bit frustrated.

Gwen returned his card and laughed after processing his order, "I have a question for you."

"What is it?" Said the Arthur guy while putting his card back into his wallet.

"Do you have a cousin from your dad's side?"

"Yep! I do. Why?"

"Man or woman?"

"Man? We're the same age."

Gwen's heart skipped a beat. She didn't know why but she suddenly became nervous without a reason, "Did he study abroad?"

"Yea…he was studying interior design in New York."

"So, He was studying abroad?"

"Yeah! He was."

"Mr. Arthur! Your orders are ready!"

"I'm not the prince, okay? Excuse me."

Gwen sighed in frustration. Helena was right, The probability was 50:50 and at this rate, Gwen doesn't know if she has to avoid The Prince or she should feel relieved if Zach wasn't actually the prince.

Arthur was working while Max was currently having a meeting with the clients. He could not come to the cafe because he had many deadlines to be finished.

And suddenly, The phone rang. Arthur woke up from his seat while looking at the watch on his left arm, "3 PM already?  time flies so fast…" He quickly walked to the phone to answer it.

"Good afternoon, This is a Fair and Square Architect Firm, May I help you?"

"Eum…is this the place where Zach–I mean Arthur works?"

"That's right, It's me…who is this?"

"Ah, It's me ....Gwen."  The  expression on Arthur's face suddenly turned bright, "Why are you calling here, I gave you my numbers."

"I called it. But you didn't answer."

"Ah! Right! I have a lot of deadlines today! I haven't checked my phone! I'm sorry."

"Ah, are you busy? Let's talk later–"

"No! No! You can talk now! It must be about the date, right?"

"Yes."

"So?"

"Okay, Let's do it."

"Yes!" He whispered in joy before going back to his normal state, "Where do you want to go?"

"Your place?"

"M-My place??"

"Eum. Are you okay with that?"

"I-I'm ...s-sure! We can go to my house!"

"Are you sure about that?"

"Yep! When do you want to go?"

"I'm free tonight."

"Tonight? Alright! I'll pick you up at the cafe. See you later!" Arthur ended the conversation, "Why suddenly want to go to my house?? I guess it's time to do some grocery shopping."
