Chapter 2 - The Body Sect

Those were beautiful eyes.

The pupils were blood red, surrounded by a black jade that seemed to pulse slowly with soul power.

His face was delicate—not handsome, but not ugly either—though his skin had a dark yellow hue from malnutrition.

Han Yu studied himself closely and realized it was indeed the eyes that drew his attention.

"It feels like I can see things more clearly, and everything around me seems to be moving in slow motion," he thought.

"Is the temperature around me dropping?"

Han Yu muttered to himself.

As the Sharingan activated, he sensed a cold fluctuation of soul power in the air.

"Will I be mistaken for an evil soul master? This aura feels rather ominous!"

Han Yu frowned slightly but remembered the organization known as the Shrek Supervisory Group on the Douluo Continent.

"Forget it. I don't want to think about these problems right now. My next step is to practice hard and see if I can find any treasures to improve my foundation."

The ability of a single tomoe isn't strong; it only enhances dynamic vision to a small degree.

It's only when I reach two or three tomoe sharingan that its true power will begin to manifest.

"System! What other functions do you have?"

Han Yu took a deep breath, ready to learn more about the system.

"Ding! The main function of this system is to select for the host. Due to unknown reasons, there are currently no other functions available. The system will enter hibernation mode. Each time the host obtains a soul ring, it will awaken.

After reaching Soul Grandmaster the system will remain active."

"Ding! The system is now going to shut down."

A cold, mechanical voice echoed in his mind, and Han Yu frowned.

This wasn't what he had expected. Was this all he had achieved? His soul power was only at level 4, and it had left him feeling half-disabled.

"This system is a low-quality system!" Han Yu muttered, lying on his bed and reflecting on his situation.

It seemed the system lacked intelligence. If he wanted to grow stronger, he would have to rely on himself.

Despite his Sharingan being only having a single tomoe, it was comparable to a medium-level martial soul. If he could evolve it into a Mangekyō Sharingan in the future, it would become an incredibly powerful martial soul.

"Tianmeng Ice Silkworm, Electrolux, Ice Emperor..."

In the quiet hut, Han Yu spoke these names in a dreamlike voice before slipping into a deep sleep.

The weakening of his body left Han Yu feeling exhausted. His physique had always been average, but now it was even worse.

The night passed quickly. Han Yu packed a few sets of washed white clothes he typically wore and made his way to the village entrance to wait for Lang Ya.

After about half an hour, Lang Ya's distinctive large head appeared on the horizon.

"Senior!" Han Yu called out, quickly bowing in greeting.

"How are you? Are you ready?" Lang Ya asked gently.

"Yes, I'm all packed. I have just some clothes for daily changes," Han Yu replied respectfully, suddenly reminded of Lang Ya's important status.

Lang Ya, a spiritual soul fighter with the martial soul of the brain, had the ability to control the consciousness of others.

"Okay, let's go. You're too slow. I'll take you with me." With that, Lang Ya stepped forward and effortlessly lifted Han Yu by the waist, launching them into the air.

As Han Yu looked on in surprise, eight soul rings appeared beneath Lang Ya's feet: yellow, purple, black, black.

Lang Ya smiled at Han Yu's astonishment. "Don't be surprised. One day, you'll be able to achieve this too."

"Even though your innate soul power is low, your martial soul quality is exceptional. In our body sect, innate soul power doesn't matter much. We have methods to help you improve. You should be able to raise your level by one or two at least."

The wind howled around them, making it difficult for Han Yu to speak. "Thank you, senior. I will work hard to practice!"

The Body Sect is located in Tiankeng, in the northern part of the Tianhun Empire, near Tiandou City and the Sunset Forest. It is one of the three major forces on the continent, alongside Shrek Academy and Mingde Hall.

The Body Village is not far from the Body Sect, and with Lang Ya's swift speed, they arrived at the mountain gate in about half an hour.

Han Yu took a careful look at his surroundings. The Body Sect was nestled in the mountains, surrounded by towering peaks. At the entrance, weathered bronze sculptures stood on both sides, their surfaces mottled with age. The sect's overall design was simple and unadorned, lacking extravagance but exuding a sense of strength.

Above the entrance, a plaque displayed the words "Body Sect."

"Child, we're here. Follow me," Lang Ya said with a slight smile, guiding Han Yu into the sect.

Upon entering, Han Yu was immediately captivated by the expansive martial arts training ground. Various unfamiliar training instruments were scattered about, and some disciples were using them to practice. As they noticed Han Yu and Lang Ya, they paused and looked on with curiosity.

"Elder Lang Ya, is this the new disciple?" A burly young man approached, standing nearly 1.7 meters tall, with broad shoulders and defined muscles. He bowed respectfully to Lang Ya.

Han Yu took a careful look at the boy in front of him. Though they appeared to be the same age, the boy was a full head taller.

His long red hair was parted in the middle, flowing smoothly on either side. He had narrow, cold eyes, a straight nose, and a square jaw. While not conventionally handsome, he carried an intriguing charm.

"Aotian, you're here! Let me introduce you," Lang Ya said, gesturing to Han Yu. "This is Han Yu, a new disciple who just arrived at the mountain. His martial soul is the eyes, and in terms of strength, it surpasses yours."

Lang Ya nodded to the boy named Aotian and continued, "Hello, little brother. My name is Long Aotian. From now on, we're family. If you have any questions, feel free to come to me."

Long Aotian smiled warmly, then clapped his hands on Han Yu's shoulders.

Han Yu felt the weight of Aotian's grip on his shoulders and his face changed as he swayed slightly, nearly losing his balance.

"Sorry, little brother! I didn't mean to use so much strength, but your physique is a bit weak!" Aotian said with a sheepish smile.

"Hello, Brother Aotian. My name is Han Yu, and yes, I know my body isn't the strongest," Han Yu admitted, his handsome face flushing. "It's a struggle just to have enough to eat, let alone keep fit. Those are luxuries for nobles, and I'm just a kid."

"Alright, Aotian, you can go train now. I'll take Han Yu to see the sect master," Lang Ya instructed.

He turned to the other disciples, who had been watching. "And you lot, what are you staring at? Get back to your training! If anyone fails the assessment, your training will be doubled!"

At Lang Ya's words, the surrounding disciples hurriedly returned to their training, moving swiftly like monkeys scrambling back up a tree.

"Yes!" they all responded in unison.

"Come on, Han Yu," Lang Ya said as they walked away. "These are all disciples who joined the sect either this year or in recent years, and they're currently doing the most basic physical training."

"A strong body is crucial, especially for those of us with original martial spirits. It's even more important for our development."
