"Okay, kid. Just absorb the Xuanshui Pill here. Remember, don't wear any clothes; otherwise, you'll regret it," Lang Ya instructed before turning and leaving.
Han Yu nodded, settling into a cross-legged position. He took out the jade bottle and poured a cherry-sized pill into his palm. It was a dark blue pill adorned with various shades of white textures, surrounded by a delicate mist. The fragrance it emitted was refreshing.
There were two Xuanshui Pills in total. While the second dose wouldn't be as potent as the first, it would still provide a significant boost.
Taking off his clothes, Han Yu swallowed one pill in one gulp and began his meditation. As the pill settled in his stomach, he felt as if he were submerged in a refreshing pool, a sensation akin to unblocking a constricted passage. An indescribable sense of clarity washed over him, and he could feel rich fluctuations of soul power radiating from within.
Han Yu's entire body was enveloped in a faint blue light, with a thin layer of water mist gradually forming around him, releasing a refreshing fragrance. Time flew by, and before he knew it, night had fallen.
Suddenly, he was jolted awake by an unpleasant odor. Opening his eyes, he immediately noticed a clarity to his vision; the darkness around him had no impact.
"What is that smell?" he thought, bewildered. Looking down at himself, he was astonished to see that his once dark yellow skin had turned noticeably lighter. He felt stronger than before, as if a layer of grime had been lifted away.
"Ugh, I need to wash up quickly!" Han Yu exclaimed, pinching his nose before rushing to the small pond nearby.
A carp leapt from the pond, splashing water everywhere, and a refreshing chill spread through Han Yu's body.
"Huh! This feels amazing! After absorbing the Xuanshui Pill, I can really feel my soul power improving. I'll save the other one for later," he thought, swimming joyfully in the pool as the mud on his skin gradually washed away, turning the water murky.
"Thank goodness it's not stagnant water; that would be unpleasant," he mused.
After rinsing off, he returned to the hut and prepared to refine the second Xuanshui Pill. This time, the process was swift, with only a few impurities remaining on the surface—just a faint black skin.
"Next, it's time for the soul-enhancing pill. Taking it at level 30 can increase soul power by one level. I'm only a few levels away, so this should at least boost me by three levels," Han Yu reasoned, pulling out a walnut-sized elixir. He brought it to his mouth and bit down lightly, releasing an incredibly rich and fresh aroma that filled the air.
Shirtless, Han Yu returned to the hut and prepared to refine the Xuanshui Pill again. This time, the process was remarkably quick, with very few impurities remaining—just a faint black skin on the surface.
"The next step is to take the soul-enhancing pill. If I take it at level 30, it can boost my soul power by one level. I'm only at the fourth level
, so this should at least increase me by three levels, right?" he reasoned.
He took out a walnut-sized elixir and brought it to his mouth, biting down lightly. Instantly, a rich and fresh aroma burst forth.
With a gentle suction, juice flowed into his mouth from the broken pill. "It's a bit like eating a soup dumpling—when the skin breaks, the filling explodes!" he thought, smacking his lips at the delightful flavor.
As he swallowed the Soul Ascending Pill, Han Yu felt his mind clear. Every cell in his body came alive, and an indescribable sense of relief washed over him, spreading through every part of his being.
"Practice quickly; don't waste such a good opportunity!" Han Yu reminded himself.
After absorbing the Xuanshui Pill, he noticed a significant acceleration in his cultivation speed. While it wasn't extremely fast, it felt almost twice as quick as before.
Sitting cross-legged, he began to silently operate the body soul power concentration method Lang Ya had provided. The meditation techniques on the Douluo Continent share similarities, but each sect refines them to better suit specific martial spirits or types of training. This targeted approach is often more effective than generic methods.
The technique Han Yu was practicing focused on unlocking the potential of the soul. He could even sense a slight improvement in his Sharingan, enhanced by the secret technique. While the boost was small, its cumulative effect over time could be tremendous.
As Han Yu focused on absorbing the Soul Ascension Pill, Du Bu Si quietly entered his hut, observing him closely.
"This kid's mental strength is exceptional—far beyond that of ordinary people. Even Lang Ya's mental strength doesn't compare at this stage. But his body is too weak. I need to prioritize improving his physical fitness," he thought, concerned. "Otherwise, he could face serious issues when it's time to absorb a soul ring."
Du Bu Si, a level ninety-eight Super Douluo, easily identified both Han Yu's strengths and weaknesses. "There's still plenty of thousand-year-old whale glue in the sect. I'll use it all for this boy. He's new here, so I suspect he's wary of me and the rest of the sect."
When he first encountered Han Yu, Du Bu Si sensed that he was different from other children. The maturity in Han Yu's eyes hinted at a depth of experience beyond his years. Despite facing a powerful figure like Du Bu Si, Han Yu maintained a calm demeanor, mixed with a subtle wariness that, while hard to detect, did not escape the keen senses of the seasoned Super Douluo.
This was the primary reason Du Bu Si took a liking to Han Yu. The boy was mature, steady, and grounded. In contrast to many of the highly talented disciples who often exhibited a sense of arrogance—sometimes bubbling to the surface when it mattered—Han Yu's demeanor was refreshingly different. Du Bu Si preferred students with such qualities.
What Du Bu Si didn't realize was that Han Yu had been shaped by his experiences over the years. No longer the naive boy he once was, he had become pragmatic and cautious. After facing numerous disappointments, he had learned to appreciate genuine actions over grand promises. If someone only offered him empty words without practical support, he wouldn't hesitate to walk away.
"Boy, have you absorbed it?" Du Bu Si asked as he sensed Han Yu finishing the last remnants of the medicinal power.
"Ah! Teacher? Why are you here?" Han Yu exclaimed, startled. He hadn't even noticed when Du Bu Si had entered.
"Humph! I am a level 98 Super Douluo after all. If you find me casually, what kind of face would I have left?" Du Bu Si said, a knowing look in his eyes. He picked up a small stool and sat down confidently.
"Ahem! Teacher, you're just joking. With your high level of cultivation, it's no wonder I couldn't sense you," Han Yu replied, feeling a bit embarrassed. With his current weak cultivation, even if Du Bu Si stood right in front of him, Han Yu wouldn't have noticed unless he used his eyes.
He realized he needed to work harder, especially on improving his Sharingan. He wondered if the Body Sect had any methods to help enhance it. From what he understood, upgrading the Sharingan required mental stimulation, and he hoped to find a way to achieve that here.
