When we finally arrived, the safehouse felt colder, the walls closing in as Alexander began pacing back and forth, his usual calm demeanour nowhere to be found. His silence was unnerving, his thoughts a storm that he wasn't yet ready to voice.
Marcus, always the first to break uncomfortable silences, finally asked the question on all our minds. "What did he mean by that?"
