A sleek, midnight-black Rolls-Royce Phantom glided smoothly into the parking lot. The front passenger door opened, and Ravenna got off slamming the door behind her. If there was a time she regretted ever running away from the training camp, it was now. Scanning the surrounding, her heart fell knowing there was no way out for her with Alaric's bodyguards watching her like a criminal. The plan was to find an escape once she got the chance and that was the reason she reluctantly agreed to this 'job'. Was it even a job or persecution? She had tried to deny saying she had no qualifications, but he refuted saying the company was his. Having no other choice, Ravenna opted to follow him and find a way out for herself later. But now, it would be hard with the tight security.
"Let's go." Ravenna scoffed at him but still followed behind, her eyes carefully scrutinizing the surrounding. Come what may, she had vowed to escape before the end of the day.
On the other hand, Alaric had a subtle smile watching her annoyance and scheming look. He knew for sure she was strategizing an escape way which was impossible. If escaping from him was that easy, Finn would not have entrusted her to him.
After a few minutes, they arrived in Alaric's office through his private lift. He directly went to his seat, but his ears were very much attentive, listening to the slowed footsteps of the person with him.
"Not bad," Ravenna murmured to herself, examining the neat, roomy office. It was quite spacious with an office table and a couch near the glass wall. It was painted with plain grey making it dull according to Ravenna, almost regretting her compliment. "What's my work in this boring office?" She sluggishly asked standing before his table with a lazy look.
Alaric paused from a document he was about to sign giving his full attention to her. With a vacant, serious expression, he pointed behind Ravenna. Following his finger, her eyes met another smaller table but almost same design as his.
"You will be working over there. Your job is...to do what I say with no objection." Alaric resumed his work leaving Ravenna dissatisfied, but he cared less.
Without a word, she carried her lazy self towards the desk and slammed her body on the seat. There was nothing of interest in this place that could keep her occupied let alone hold her from escaping. Or, maybe there was. Her eyes travelled towards Alaric and could not help admiring him. He looked like those gorgeous male leads in TV serials she had watched. His face alone was enough to make one lose their rationality. Ravenna was no exception, she had been confined in the training camp for long and had gotten used to the faces of the men over there so watching this rare species, made her immoral mind want to feel his face on her hands again and again. Though she had done so, that was in a moment of... heat, that she could not explore it to her satisfaction.
The only feeling that lingered whenever she stared at him was the taste of his lips. It had this unique taste and softness that she was bound to get addicted soon enough. Ravenna gulped watching them parted a little as if inviting her to taste them again.
"So sexy," she murmured to herself lying her chin on her hand that was supported by the desk. She bit her lower lip as her mind travelled into another world.
"If you are done ogling, go make me a cup of coffee," Alaric ordered startling her, and she ended up hitting the table with her forehead.
Ravenna stared at him grudgingly, before stomping off from the office without a word. This was her chance to leave, she thought.
Alaric stared at her departing figure and a vague smile formed on his lips remembering her whisper from earlier. He had never been fond of compliments as he thought people were only trying to please him but hearing her call him sexy, a certain feeling of accomplishment emerged filling his whole being.
Though she was talked quite a lot, he had never felt repulsed by her. Truthfully, he had no patience for such people but with her, there was something different that he could not explain. Everything about her made him want to know more, hear more and feel more. She portrayed herself to be careless, but he knew there was more to her. If she could escape from his brother then she was not easy as seen. She was not one of the best in the camp for nothing. One needed more than physical strength to get there. Whatever she was, he would find out soon.
Alaric was still deep in thought when the door opened revealing the person he had been thinking of seconds ago. He could see a hint of disappointment on her face and could already guess what had happened. She had tried to escape but to no avail.
"Where's my coffee?" He enquired glancing at her empty hands.
"I couldn't find my way around this large office." Or rather she could not find a way to escape.
"Am sure there are people you could ask."
Ravenna scoffed irritated then started walking back to her desk. She was about to take a seat when her arm was caught and pulled hard hitting a hard surface.
Hissing painfully, she glared at no one else but Alaric grudgingly. She was now getting used to his inhuman speed. Moments ago, he was sitting 'peacefully' but now here he was. Even if she asked, he would just ignore her as usual.
"You don't walk out on me when am talking," His voice was low but carried a lot of coldness and warning making Ravenna shudder inwardly.
"I don't answer to you or anyone." She rolled her eyes looking away.
"Am the boss here, not you!" His grip on her arm tightened almost crashing her bones.
Ravenna gritted her teeth to not make a sound but the pain was too much. Unable to take it anymore, she tried to wriggle out of his grip she could not stand in front of him when it came to physical strength. But Ravenna being Ravenna, she would never give in.
Swiftly, she lifted her leg and was about to knee him on his precious jewels but Alaric, with his sharp eyesight, foresaw her movement and caught her thigh with his other hand.
"Let go of me, Alaric," she muttered near his face while trying to escape but all her efforts turned futile.
Instead of letting her go, he lifted her up and placed her on the table, in a sitting position, then placed his hands on both side of the table locking her in between. His face was too near that he could hear her restrained breathing and her heart that was beating loudly and fast. She stopped struggling when he closed the distance between them, and closed her eyes, as if waiting for something. The side of his lip rose satisfied. It seemed she was also affected by him just like she did to him. Her quiet self was so charming but shockingly, he discovered he liked it more when she talked nonstop. But he would never admit it, not to her.
"You should be obedient just like this. I like it," he whispered beside her ear then went back to his table.
Ravenna opened her eyes after a long wait and surprisingly, she did not see the person she wanted. Turning her head behind, she saw him buried in his computer as if nothing had happened. What just happened? She was equally confused wondering how easily she got carried away by those unwanted feelings and desire. Not only was angry with herself, but she also felt a sense of unfulfilled desires and almost wanted to shout at him for leaving her hanging. But she would never do it. That would be like admitting defeat even though she knew inwardly she had already lost. Lost herself away to an unknown place that she wished to not proceed further, despite the pleasure lying ahead of her. It was too tempting but more dangerous.
"Better put yourself together someone's coming."
Ravenna heard the 'perpetrator's ' warning and was about to put the blame on him when a knock came by. She looked at the door and hastily straightened her blouse and brushed her hair though it was not that dishevelled.
"We are not done!" She glared at him before taking her seat.
A second knock came by and with Alaric's permission, a blonde-haired lady with long heels, entered the office swaying her hips side by side. She had a tight black skirt and a white blouse, with the first two buttons undone. She had not yet noticed Ravenna who was in the room and directly walked towards Alaric with a knowing smile, and put the files on her hands on his table. She leaned her upper body lower exposing half of her breasts to the man who was busy engrossed on his desk.
"Is the computer sexier than me, Alaric? Just take a look, babe," her lustful voice echoed in the room, while she massaged her breasts seductively.
Ravenna eyes almost popped out of their socket watching the scene unfolding in front of her. She had indescribable mixed feelings inside her but the fact that Alaric had not given her a single glance made her... relieved? Why would she feel that when she had nothing to do with him? But then, a painful feeling crept inside her heart when she saw his head rising up...
"Don't!" She screamed startling the two individuals.
