Goddess Tyriel is one of the few divine rulers of this world. Though she is worshipped as a goddess, the truth is far more grounded—she was once a human who transcended her mortality, ascending to divinity after mastering the highest tiers of magic. Among the few who achieved the coveted 10th-tier mage status, Tyriel specialized in both space magic and holy magic. Yet, despite her impressive abilities, she is not the true god of her world and cannot single-handedly stop the demonic forces threatening to destroy everything she holds dear.
Tyriel's power in space magic is formidable, but her knowledge remains limited—confined to the equivalent of 15th-century Earth's understanding of space. Reaching the 10th tier of magic is not solely about vast knowledge, but rather about mastering one's abilities to an extraordinary degree. For Tyriel, it was her unrivaled skill in manipulating space magic that allowed her to reach the pinnacle of power. She could navigate different planets and other solar systems, but even her talent had its limitations in a world still struggling to grasp the higher forms of magic.
To maintain her place at the top of magical society, Tyriel poured her life into researching space and holy magic. Her greatest breakthrough came when she discovered a way to harness the Law of Causality—a higher form of mana that allowed her to directly bestow power onto individuals, enabling them to grow stronger through their own actions.
The Law of Causality is unlike the basic forms of magic. While most healing magic, even at advanced levels, could restore wounds and severed limbs, it couldn't bring back the dead. Necromancy, too, had its limits. But Tyriel, as a 10th-tier mage, could break through that boundary. With enough power, she could revive the dead—albeit at a great personal cost, for resurrecting even a single person would drain a massive amount of her strength. Her ability to heal thousands in battle could not be compared to the rare and taxing feat of pulling a soul back from the afterlife.
Hundreds of years ago, when the war against the demons began to escalate beyond control, Tyriel and her few 10th-tier allies were on the brink of defeat. Desperation forced her to devise a bold, dangerous plan. She proposed sealing herself and the Demon Overlord within a special, self-created space—a prison no one could enter or escape from. Her allies reluctantly agreed, and together, they prepared the necessary magic for the ritual.
The sealing worked, but at a great cost. The world enjoyed four centuries of peace, but to beings as long-lived as elves and demons, this respite was nothing more than a fleeting moment. Inside the seal, Tyriel knew the peace wouldn't last forever. She spent her time gathering her power, focusing on her only hope: finding assistance from another dimension.
For 388 years, Tyriel searched for a way to break the seal. Time was running out. After nearly four centuries, she began to lose hope. But just before her sacrifice could prove to be in vain, she found Earth—a world teeming with billions of souls, each one as strong as hers in potential. Tyriel believed she had discovered a planet full of 10th-tier mages who could finally help her defeat the Demon Overlord.
Her excitement was short-lived. Although the souls were powerful, the people of Earth knew little to nothing about magic. Many couldn't even compare to a 2nd-circle mage from her world. Crestfallen, she nearly gave up on her search again. However, Earth's pop culture provided an unexpected spark of inspiration. In her surveillance, Tyriel discovered anime—specifically, the genre of Isekai, where ordinary people are transported to fantasy worlds and become heroes. She realized that if she could summon people from Earth in the same way, she could give them the tools to grow strong enough to help her.
Tyriel devised a plan to bring a hundred souls from Earth to her world. But to ensure they would willingly accept their new destiny, she chose individuals who had little to lose or who were near death. Many of them were overworked, lonely, or terminally ill, while others were simply disillusioned with their current lives. Rain was one of these individuals.
To expedite their deaths, Tyriel used her power to manipulate fate—helping orchestrate tragic accidents, illnesses, or simply pushing their circumstances to the breaking point. For a few unlucky souls, she employed the infamous method of "Truck-kun," ensuring their timely demise through a fatal traffic accident. The rest were already nearing the end of their lives.
Once they died, Tyriel captured their souls and used her magic to craft new bodies for them in her world—similar to the ones they had in life. The summoning began, and the first to appear was Rain. However, things did not go exactly as planned. Rain rebelled against the idea of returning to Earth after the Demon Overlord was defeated.
"Noooo!" he shouted as the portal pulled him in, refusing to accept that he would be discarded after helping save the world.
Tyriel, hearing his cries of desperation, could only laugh. She assumed the young man was simply terrified of the unknown.
Unbeknownst to Rain, his arrival had already set many events in motion. Tyriel notified her allies that help was finally on the way. Her message to the Elven Goddess was brief but significant: "An individual will be sent to the elven village in the dense forest near the rocky mountains."
Thus, Rain's journey began, but so too did the final phase of Tyriel's long, carefully orchestrated plan.
