The elves are divided into many different clans: the High Elves, who reside near the sacred World Tree; the Dark Elves, who inhabit the shadowed lands of the Dark Forest; and the Normal Elves, who dwell in the dense forests spread across the world. The Normal Elves primarily hunt for food to sustain the High Elves and ensure the survival of their race, spreading their people across various territories.
It is in one of these forests, a vast expanse of gigantic trees, where our protagonist, Rain, has chosen to descend. At the center of this forest lies a village populated by hundreds of Normal Elves, their lives centered around survival and safeguarding their race. The village's elder, who has lived for over 900 years, holds a position of wisdom and leadership.
The Elven Chief stood atop the balcony of his tree house, ringing an ancient bell as he bellowed, "Announcement! There is a message from our Elf Goddess! She says that a person, sent by the human Goddess Tyriel, is coming to us! He is an elf with blonde hair and blue eyes, and he will descend from the sky!"
Elves from all over the village came rushing, drawn by the urgency of the bell. They gathered below the chief's tree house, their faces a mixture of relief and curiosity. The Chief's words were a beacon of hope—finally, the Goddess Tyriel had fulfilled her promise of providing aid to fend off the demonic forces threatening their world.
The Elven Chief looked over the gathered elves, his gaze somber as he continued. "Many of us still remember the Continental War. To humans, it may have been over ten generations ago, but for us, it was merely a single lifetime ago. Many of our elders here, myself included, can still recall the devastation of that war." His voice wavered as he recounted the sorrowful history of their people, how the elven population had been decimated—cut in half during the conflict with other races and the demons. Even after four centuries, they had not recovered from the loss.
Most of the males who fought in the war had perished, leaving behind villages filled with elderly women. The lack of males had made it difficult for their kind to reproduce, further slowing the growth of their numbers.
Suddenly, the Chief shouted, "Elsa! Where are you?" His eyes scanned the crowd. "You are 160 years old now! You're an adult! This is not the time for games!"
At that moment, a young elven girl, who looked no older than a human teenager, came darting through the trees, her movements graceful and swift. "I'm here, Grandpa!" she called, landing nimbly on the balcony beside him.
Bonk! The Chief smacked her lightly with his cane. "Where have you been? Go and find the boy from the oracle! You're the most skilled in both strength and magic among your peers. It's only fitting that you be the one to meet him. His name is..." The Chief squinted at the letter sent by the Elf Goddess. "Rain. He has blonde hair and blue eyes like a High Elf, but his ears aren't as long as theirs. He is one of us, a Normal Elf. And his age..." The Chief paused, confused by what he read.
The message said Rain was 21. That couldn't be right. Elves aged much slower than humans, and at 21 years old, he would still be a child by their standards. "Ah, he is two hundred and ten years old," the Chief declared confidently, assuming there had been a mistake in the message. Clearly, a zero had been left off.
The Chief leaned forward, his tone authoritative. "You are a 4th-circle wind mage and a skilled wind archer. Plus, you're one of the prettiest girls in the village. Make yourself presentable, and go fetch this Rain boy!"
Elsa nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, Chief! I'll make sure he's safe! I've heard there are goblins in the rocky mountains nearby, but don't worry, I won't let him go anywhere dangerous!" With that, Elsa sprinted off, leaping between the massive trees, her heart racing with excitement.
As she darted through the forest, her mind wandered. "The Chief said long ago that Goddess Tyriel sends her heroes down from the sky. I wonder if this elf hero will be as strong and handsome as I've imagined!" She giggled to herself, her feet barely touching the branches as she soared through the forest's thick canopy.
Suddenly, something zoomed past her—a blur of movement that caught her off guard. "What was that?! Whatever it is, I'll skin it alive and make it my dinner later!" She pouted, scanning the sky.
Then, in the distance, she saw it: an ethereal, elevator-like passage made of pure magic, descending from the heavens. Her heart leapt. "There! I'll fly up and meet the elf hero who will defeat the Demon Overlord!" With a burst of wind magic, she propelled herself into the sky, soaring toward the magical platform.
"Hero! I'm coming!" Elsa called as she approached, but when she arrived, she was shocked to find the platform empty. "Hero-sama? Where are you?" Panic set in. She thought of the blur that had passed her earlier. "C-could that have been...him? Oh no!"
Frantic, she flew in the direction the mysterious object had gone, calling out, "Hero-sama! Why would you leave the platform? Even I can only sustain my wind magic for a few minutes at this altitude!"
After nearly ten minutes of searching, Elsa finally spotted a figure by the river. Her lungs burned, and she was panting from exhaustion as she staggered toward him. "Hah...haaah...there you are," she gasped, relieved to have finally found the mysterious elf.
Before she could say anything, she saw Rain conjuring a spell that dried his wet clothes. There were no magic circles, no incantations—just pure, raw magic flowing from him effortlessly.
"What...was that?" Elsa mumbled in awe. Even the most powerful 7th-circle mages couldn't cast magic without showing a circle or reciting a chant.
She approached cautiously, but before she could say a word, she heard Rain muttering strange, incomprehensible words. "Bla bla, ho shall da lo poh naty to leh ga! Hahaha!"
Elsa blinked, utterly baffled. "W-what? What is he saying?"
Finally, she gathered her courage and stepped forward, calling out excitedly, "Hero-sama! Hello!" She waved, her voice filled with excitement.
Rain turned, hearing strange sounds coming from the forest. "Doh wha khan!" he shouted, terrified as a figure cloaked in leaves came rushing toward him. "Nooo! A monster spotted me so fast!! Aghhh!! What's that?! It's speaking to me!"
He bolted, running in the opposite direction.
Elsa was stunned. "No! Ba lol ko lah!! Aghhh!! How poh ka laha hara!" she mimicked in confusion, tears welling in her eyes. "W-wait, Hero-sama! Why are you running away from me? Am I ugly?!"
She chased after him, her heart pounding, desperately trying to catch the fleeing elf.
This was all caused by not choosing an automatic translation magic and a poor point of view by the MC because of the sunlight and Elsa's position that caused him to mistakenly believe that our pretty elf is some kind of a tree monster.
