ANNA'S VIEW
"We are almost here," Drake said, stroking my arm gently. I rubbed my eyes. I didn't realize that I had dozed off, since I was exhausted, fleeing for my life once again. I could see beautiful white horses as we drove into the homestead. Everything looked so peaceful and untouched. I felt a sense of serenity as we drove further. "This place is beautiful," I remarked. "It sure is. I hope we are welcome here," Drake said.
"Why? Didn't you tell the shaman what was going on?" I questioned.
"I didn't have the time, since we were fleeing without a moment's notice, and I had to rescue you and our son first," he said in a mocking tone. "Okay! I get it, but why would he reject you? Since you have been here before?" I inquired.
