Chapter 33 - Blood Mist, Mana Cultivation, Corruption?

Since Kang followed the heavenly demon around like a sore thumb while bugging him to begin teaching him the crimson aura, the heavenly demon had no choice but to guide Kang through the process, soon, he left Kang all alone to depend on himself while he took care of teaching the worthy ones his demonic arts.

The first step to mastering the crimson aura was discharging the blood, and although Kang witnessed it previously, executing it seemed to be quite rough since the mask had no influence on that part. Still, it didn't discourage Kang at all since he had to do it however he liked or not due to the trial.

While discharging his blood, Kang faced the issue of control which seemed a little strange given his blood control was excellent. Soon, Kang started recalling the process from start to end in an attempt to find what mistakes he was making. To no avail, Kang had to request the heavenly demon's assistance since he knew better.

"Your control is fine but this is not how it works, you are not meant to be pissing blood like a lady! Stop inflicting injuries on yourself and condense your blood then discharge it through your skin pores, do you understand?"

Watching Kang attempt the step, the heavenly demon almost facepalmed him due to how he was executing it. Although he knew Kang's talent was nearly non-existent, he guessed how he got his hands on the mask.

Through the heavenly demon's guidance and practice, Kang was able to form the blood mist despite its density being too low to be considered significant enough to turn into a crimson aura.

Throughout the month, Kang continued practicing the same step over and over at a snail's pace due to the heavenly demon insisting that it was not even near the threshold of being considered good.

Meanwhile, the guild itself was growing stronger with the heavenly demon picking up disciples to carry his legacy. Despite it being rough since he couldn't display the demonic arts as a blood fiend, he was able to guide the ones with good talents.

Similarly, Kang couldn't hold his curiosity back from the blood arts since his head was blown off with a single nameless fist.

One thing that worried Kang for sure was the fact that the Hunter Council had made no moves since the conflict was struck between both factions. Still, Kang could understand why to a certain degree given his observations coupled with the heavenly demon's words.

"The majority of your people have become dependent on modern technology and the strong ones are slacking, unaware of the true picture behind those rifts."

"I'm trying to fix the issue to by uniting humanities as much as I could but what do you mean by the true picture?"

"It's very simple, isn't it? There is cooperation and invasion, in your case, it's an invasion. Suppose you had two options, first is to purify the corrupt mana through mana cultivation and second is discharging into another world, what do you choose?"

"Second?..."

"Indeed, there is nothing better than picking that option because it's just easier overall compared to the first. You just get someone strong and adept enough in dimensional abilities and they open a rift or gate where the excess corrupt mana floods." Hearing the heavenly demon's explanation, Kang nodded his head in agreement before responding with the statement.

"Fewer beasts, more resources from different worlds. A perfect profit model if you ask me."

"That's only true in the case where the invaded world is as relaxed as yours, it doesn't end well every time, especially in worlds where talents as good enough to figure out the dimensional arts on their own. Thus some would prefer cooperation over total invasion."

"I see, speaking about the corrupted mana, where does it come from? No, never mind all of that, how do I stop those bloody rifts from coming back again and again?"

"There is no use trying to do such a thing now with your people being no different from trash. But the most ideal solution to an invasion is responding with an equal invasion. As I said previously, being a lower world doesn't result in an automatic loss."

"Thank you, but you didn't really give me any important clues." Shaking his head, Kang politely asked the heavenly demon once again.

"What is the point in telling you now? You alone make no change, wait until your people are strong enough to assist you. How about you go hunt for a couple of space abilities then come back? I will gladly guide you through the dimensional rules as well."

"Make sure whatever space manipulation ability you get is above S-rank, do whatever it takes before coming back. Meanwhile, I will take a tour around your world to get a better image of the current situation. Mind you, interacting with the same six people forever has taken a toll on me."

"I'm really curious why you chose to become a blood fiend in that case, and how did you kill Argon anyway?"

"I never intended to become a blood fiend, let's just say that curiosity gripped me. Can you imagine tearing someone apart repeatedly for days until they quit regenerating just to end up with a mask and buddle of blood? Then out of nowhere, you are standing in front of the person once again."

"I see, so the mask provides some sort of cursed immortality rather than a true luxury. Did you regret it though?"

"Hmm? No, I've traveled across the world and had my own fun thanks to how I designed my trail to be. Even though some of the mask bearers were failures, it was always my victory since I could visit the real world as much as I wanted."

"I see, I will probably do the same thing if I'm put in your place. Either way, I will get going. There is someone I needed to visit for a while, I think it's about the right time." Making up his mind, Kang prepared to pay God's Hand a visit for the mask.
