Chapter 34 - An unwanted guest

Retrieving the elder's corpse he killed during the auction, Kang returned to his office before devouring it. Surprisingly, the blood was decent but the lifeforce was as low as a ten percent serum.

[Lifesteal activated!]

[You've stolen 6,800 blood and thirty years' worth of life force]

[Power absorption activated!]

[Pick one ability from the following: Templer's Chant(A), Pierce(B), Silent Walk(A)]

Guessing what Pierce and Silent Walk did, Kang avoided both and chose the Templer's Chant, curious about what it could do. Sing? He guessed so, but he was sure it was as not as simple as it was. As for Silent Walk, Kang knew very well what it did, still, he gave up on it since his speed was good enough to replace it, even if it was in a different way.

[Templer's Chant(A) extracted successfully.]

[Strenghen your enemies' resolve and fighting spirit through an enchanted tone.]

[Error: Incompatible ability!]

[Altering Ability according to the Blood fiend race…8%...26%...44%...]

While waiting for the system to do its work, Kang took a final on the guild before calling the helicopter's pilot since he was gonna visit a different country this time.

Eastern Gate was God's Hand country and where he lived and although it was named that way, the pilot had to go fly toward the southwest to reach it since Ashford was located somewhere in the northeast of the continent.

[Altering Sucess… Fiend's Chant(A) added to Absrobed Abilities]

[Fiend's Chant(A): Destroy your enemies' resolve and fighting spirit through an enchanted tone]

"I see, so it seems like it was reversed completely." Nodding his head, Kang dismissed the system messages before making his way to the helicopter where his pilot was waiting for him.

A couple of hours later, Kang arrived at the capital city of Eastern Gate. Thankfully to God's Hand fame, his residence was quite easy to find. The luxury palace stood unique enough compared to the rest of the buildings around it, making Kang imagine the fact that a blind man could definitely see it due to how it stood out.

"Would you mind letting your master know that his guest arrived?" Revealing his identity card, Kang claimed that he had an appointment with God's Hand.

Although it was a cheap trick, the guards already knew what happened during the auction so they chose to play along instead of getting themselves into trouble, at the end of the day, none of the guards could take Kang on in a serious fight.

Sure enough, God's Hand was here as expected and a few minutes later, one of the guards responded to Kang by escorting him inside. Eyeing the familiar figure sitting on the chair, Kang smiled since all he could see was wariness, nervousness, and fear, yet his mask covered all of his reactions, drowning the guy in his current state.

At the end of the day, Kang couldn't really blame it on the guy since he had witnessed one of his elders getting beaten up and another getting killed casually with nothing to do about it. While fear could be considered a factor he could depend on, it was a double-edged sword as well since it could push individuals to become stronger by facing those fears.

"What brings you here? I don't recall having any business with you!" Shouting at Kang, God's Hand failed to mask the angry tone behind his words.

"What else? Hand over the ring, I need it." Making his way to the seat opposing God's Hand, Kang spoke before sitting down. Looking around him, Kang searched for any source of proof that could lead to his true form in case he had to go all out due to his opponent's unknown strength.

"This could go the easy way, you hand the ring and you get paid what you spend. I don't waste your time, and you don't waste my time, or the hard way, and you won't know what the hard way means unless you really experience it."

"Really, you bastard? How about neither?" Unable to hold his anger any further, God's Hand revealed his full strength as the place began to shake similar to what happened back at the auction house.

"Did defeating the old bones blind you? So much for someone hiding behind a mask!" Wondering why Kang showed no reaction due to his pressure, God's Hand tried to provoke him into removing the mask to see his face below it. Unfortunately, it didn't work as Kang responded back with a bigger insult.

"Really? You speak too much for someone who can't even tell whether his elder is truly a frail man or not. Kinda makes me wonder whether you are naive or stupid, does it even matter at this point?" With every word, Kang continued to provoke the guy further in an attempt to get the best of him since he seemed to have an anger issue that he couldn't control.

"I know what you are orchestrating now very well and I'm trying to hold myself back from beating the fuck out of you and causing an unreasonable problem for the council…"

"I see, so you are particularly the council's loyal dog. I wonder how long you would remain as a loyal dog under someone who is nothing but a ceiling that prevents your growth. But did you really think I wouldn't take the initiative if you didn't move?" Shooking his head in disappointment, Kand raised both of his hands before slowly forming an acid bomb in each.

"What a disappointment! Let me lend you a hand, may the light brighten your future!" Kicking the table between them, Kang launched himself forward toward the guy sitting opposite him. Raising his arms in a cross formation, God's Hand attempted to shield himself from the massive explosion as the acidic blood spread across the surroundings, including both of their bodies.
