"Green is back!"
Gasping for breath, the guard's voice continuously repeated with urgency.
"Green is back!"
"Green is back!"
Panting heavily, he hastily ran through the bustling streets of the Tier 1 City. Guards racing about is normally a regular occurrence, yet, the focused expression and glazed eyes of this particular guard drew the attention of everyone around him.
Despite how much effect of fatigue he was feeling, he did not stop until he stumbled and almost collapsed against the wall of the king's palace.
"What's the rush?" a couple of guards from the gate approached him. There were concerned expression on their faces, but he offered no reply.
"Green is back!" he continuously mumbled to himself.
"Green is back!"
"Green is back!"
Shaking off his fatigue, he stood up unsteadily, determination was clear on his face as he hurried forward, he banged open the massive gates of the palace and made a run through the stairs.
His legs made a clacking sound against the marble floor of the castle stairs while he screamed. "Your majesty needs to hear this, Green is back."
The two guards didn't even bother to go after him since the heard what their colleague screamed.
"Is it truly him? Did he survive the battle?" Greg breathed, his voice shaking on the verge of tears of joy.
His partner, Andy, flashed a broad grin. "I'm not surprised at all. I've never doubted Green, even if I've yet to witness his magic firsthand."
"The king possess a good eye, I can testify for that—there's a reason he declared Green the strongest without the usual assessment.xuf"
On the other hand...
Bang!
As much as Clark wanted to, he couldn't stop running and banging into every door he came across until eventually, he reached the door of the throne room.
He paused for a brief moment, trying to catch his breath and adjusted his uniform, in order to look presentable in front of the king. He then, entered the throne room.
"Your majesty!" He nearly collapsed as he fell down in prostration, hitting his head on the floor in the process. "I have an urgent report!"
The throne room was unusual dark at the moment. There were many doors and windows, and the afternoon sun was radiating it's warm light outside. Despite all of that, the throne room was still dark and gloomy.
The sunlight couldn't penetrate through into the room. It has remained like this for a while, specifically, a week after Green ventured out in the quest along with an army of all the other strongest mage humanity has to offer.
Although the room was dark, it wasn't pitch black. It was bright enough to make only the outline of what was in the room slightly visible, even though one eyes cannot see the residing objects and persons in the room
"Your majesty, the mages are back!" Clark's voice boomed, echoing in the room.
Clark knew the King White was in the room. King White's head was lazily hanging around, staring down from his throne where he was sitting, his eyes weren't closed and it will take precise observation to tell the state of anything in the room but for Clark, it was different.
He knows the King better than many and he was aware of the fact that White never sleeps during broad day light. He rarely even sleeps in the night normally and this period is worse. He stopped sleeping completely ever since Green and the other mages ventured on the quest.
Still, despite Clark booming voice, there was no response...
"Your majesty, the mages you sent on the elite mission are back." He screamed again.
Still, there was no response, so Clark got back to his feet, finally catching his breath.
'The king do not really give a damn about the other mages but Green... Green is different.'
Clark exhaled and spoke calmly.
"Your majesty... Green is back!"
*Vwoom*
A wave of energy bursted out from the king the moment his eyes shot open. It didn't contain the slightest bit of flame, yet, every single one of the candles on the wall of the throne room ignited into blue flame, lighting up the room.
"Did I hear you correctly? Did you say he is back?" King White's voice echoed deeply, each word heavy with authority and intensive aura that pressed Clark down while he raised his head and held it up high like a King should normal do. "Is Green back?"
He spoke the last statement with a booming voice that sent a single ripple of wind through the entire human settlement.
As the wind ripple that emanated from the king words alone travelled, each guard it went past froze up.
The guards in the palace, outside the palace, patrolling around the settlement, the ones guarding the wall separating the Human and Beast territory, every single one of them froze up on their tracks.
One statement that was running through their minds was, "the king is active, prostrate before the mighty." It was instinctive, I wasn't what they intended.
Every single one of them fell to the ground, they didn't even mind slamming their head to the ground and stretching out their hands to give the lowest prostration.
Every single guard did this.
Meanwhile, at the castle was Clark. Slowly getting up from the ground, Clark activated his magic spell.
*Activating Magic: Sky Mirror*
*Eye in the sky*
A giant swirling mirror made of magic appeared. It wasn't a mirror to show reflection, but it was a mirror that reflects a visual display of wherever is intended by the wielder. A typical example of Domain Enhancement magic.
From it, some figures could be seen walking in a deserted area. The one in the middle stood out— he has long green hair tied in a ponytail that flows with the wind.
"Green!"
White mumbled as his heart melted. "You truly made it," his aura suffocating aura, slowly suppressed.
"Go, go, bring him forward now, bring him to my castle, we must appreciate his success."
"Bring him to me at once!" King White commanded from where he sat on his throne.
Every single guard at the palace heard this like it was being said directly into their head.
"Yes, sire!" they chorused, a small respectful bow from where they stood before rushing out. "You made it Green, you truly succeeded."
"Seems like me naming you the number one without even assessing you was not a wrong choice." White grinned excitedly.
"Maids, prepare a grand feast all 51 of them." He spoke, and from the castle, all the maids chorused, loudly enough for White to hear back at the throne room. They all heard his message like it was being said using telepath.
White tapped his feet frantically tapping on the marble floor, White was feeling both nervous and excited, lost in thought as he awaited the arrival of the mages.
*Bang*
Roughly ten minutes later, the door of the castle room swung open, and the first person to enter the room was Green. He was the one who slammed the door open.
"What do you want, old hag? Tell me, what do you want?" he barked, showcasing annoyance as he entire appearance came into view. Though he is muscular with a well-chiseled body, but that wasn't the case right now.
It would only take a glance for someone to see that he had just been in an intense full-out fight, given how bloodied and torn his clothes were.
"Oh, if it isn't the number one of the strongest mages. I was expecting you anyway, so welcome," King White exclaimed cheerfully.
Green snapped. "Shut up!"
