"Who the hell do you think you are, touching my wife?"
Jack turned sharply, his fists instinctively clenching. The gym's air seemed to grow colder as a broad-shouldered man stepped forward, his face twisted in fury. Ruby froze beside Jack, her complexion pale.
"Damien," Ruby whispered, her voice trembling.
"Damien?" Jack repeated, his brow furrowing. "Who is this guy?"
"I'm her husband," Damien snapped, his glare boring into Jack. "And you're the scumbag who's been sleeping with her."
Jack's stomach dropped. He took a deep breath, trying to process the information. "Wait. Husband?" He turned to Ruby, confusion and frustration mixing on his face. "You didn't tell me you were married!"
Ruby looked down, avoiding Jack's eyes. "It's… complicated."
"Complicated?" Damien roared, stepping closer to Jack. "You think it's complicated for you? How about for me, finding out my wife's been sneaking around with some washed-up fighter?"
