Chapter 16 - I Will Only Marry One Wife

Rhysand Lee Golden's eyes darkened, a cold, sharp light flickering within them.

His family had arranged a marriage for him? On the day he was supposed to marry Ariel Ocean?

He had only been away from Peak City for half a year, and already, some people within the Golden family were plotting against him?

They dared to arrange his marriage?

Collins was equally confused, "Young Master Golden, you're getting married now, but your family has also arranged a beautiful fiancée for you. Who do you plan to choose?"

Rhysand remained silent. He wasn't aware of the arranged marriage, and as for Ariel… he had planned to divorce her in three months.

Collins, being his usual loud self, slapped the table. "Why don't you just marry both of them, like your dad did, and enjoy having two wives?"

As soon as the words left his mouth, he caught Rhysand's cold gaze and trembled in fear. "Brother, I was wrong. I've got a big mouth. I'll punish myself with three cups!" He picked up a cup and gulped it down.

Rhysand stood up, his voice cold as ice. "I will only marry one wife, and I will never have another woman."

Without another word, he turned and walked out of the private room.

"Brother, I'm really sorry!" Collins slapped himself. "Why do I have to be so talkative? Why did I bring up the past about Young Master Golden's mother and stepmother?"

Rhysand stepped out of the private room and dialed Butler Jorah's number, his voice cold and devoid of warmth. "Are you hiding something from me?"

Butler Jorah, startled by Rhysand's tone, probably guessed the reason for his anger. He quickly smiled apologetically, "Young Master Rhysand, you're aware of the engagement, right? President Golden made the decision. I… I just wanted to avoid another argument between you and him, so I planned to tell you later…"

"Tell my dad to mind his own business," Rhysand interrupted coldly. "From now on, he's not allowed to sign off on any of my expenses."

After a brief pause, he continued, "Did my father buy another car with the two million I sent last time and give it to his mistress?"

"Yes…"

"Smash it."

Rhysand hung up the phone. No one had the right to arrange his life.

Just as he put away his phone, it buzzed. A message popped up on the screen.

"I finished all the food at home. If you're coming back, could you stop by the supermarket and get some eggs?"

Rhysand stared at his phone, confused about whose number it was.

After a long moment, he remembered—it was Ariel's number.

He had recently saved his number on her phone.

Rhysand rubbed his forehead in frustration. He married Ariel to keep his identity hidden.

Although he had no intention of getting close to her, he had to take care of her for the next three months.

It was his responsibility.

He picked up his phone and replied, "Got it. What else do you need? Make a list, and I'll get everything."

Just as he hit send, Collins stumbled out of the room, looking remorseful. "Young Master Golden, I won't bring it up again. Please forgive me. We've been friends since childhood."

Rhysand glanced at him. "Did you drive here?"

Collins perked up, eager to please. "Where do you want to go, Young Master? I'll drive you personally!"

"The supermarket," Rhysand replied coldly. "My wife asked me to get groceries."

The car key in Collins's hand fell to the ground as he stared at Rhysand, wide-eyed. His mouth hung open in shock.

Was this the same Rhysand Lee Golden, the cold, ruthless heir of the Golden family in Peak City, who would make everyone tremble with just one word?

And now he was going to buy groceries… because his wife asked him to?!

Collins quickly picked up his keys and scrambled towards the car. "Young Master Golden, are you sure… you're really going to buy groceries?"

Rhysand glanced at the flashy green sports car Collins stood next to. It looked like a shiny frog.

Sensing Rhysand's disdain, Collins chuckled nervously. "Well, I think green is kind of cool… I mean, sure, it's a bit odd, but don't be so picky…"

Ignoring him, Rhysand opened the door to a nearby taxi and got in.

"Wait for me!" Collins jumped into his BMW Z4 and started the engine, following closely behind.

He needed to see who this "wife" was, who could make Rhysand Golden, of all people, rush to buy groceries.

This woman must be incredible.

In the taxi, Rhysand's expression remained cold.

He looked out the window, his black eyes deeper than the night sky.

The Golden family was far from harmonious, contrary to what outsiders believed.

Hidden tensions ran deep, and people would use any means necessary to gain power and wealth.

But did they truly think they could scheme behind his back and strip him of his inheritance?

Impossible.
