Chapter 18 - Looks Fragile But She's Feisty

Rhysand replied with a grunt, and when he saw she was about to go to sleep, he turned around and lay down on the floor.

The room fell silent, and it was pitch black.

Seeing Rhysand voluntarily sleep on the floor, Ariel breathed a sigh of relief, but she still couldn't fall asleep.

She turned her head and secretly looked at Rhysand sleeping on the floor in the darkness.

The man was wearing a T-shirt and long pants, lying on his stomach with his back facing her.

His sturdy and powerful back gave off a sense of security.

His body was strong, slender, and well-proportioned.

Coupled with his handsome face, he would definitely be a popular model.

Ariel stole glances at him for quite some time, wanting to ask where he had been these past few days, but she swallowed her words back.

Suddenly, Rhysand, who was lying on the ground, sat up and looked at her coldly.

Ariel was caught off guard, and their eyes met before she could look away.

Rhysand asked coldly, "Why have you been staring at me?"

Ariel was taken aback, and to cover her embarrassment, she quickly whispered, "I'm afraid of the dark."

In the darkness, she felt Rhysand's handsome eyebrows furrow in confusion.

After a few seconds, his deep voice rang in her ears, "So, you want me to accompany you?"

Ariel was stunned.

How could he think that?

But before she could answer, the bed next to her sank slightly as Rhysand lay down beside her.

Ariel was immediately flustered as his breath washed over her.

She quickly closed her eyes to hide her unease.

Rhysand looked up at the ceiling in the darkness.

He couldn't sleep either.

He had grown up surrounded by intrigue and didn't easily trust anyone.

Even when he slept, he remained vigilant.

However, that night, he slept well while holding Ariel, which was strange.

Why could he fall asleep so easily beside her?

Rhysand turned his head and glanced at Ariel, then stretched his arm to embrace her waist and effortlessly pulled her into his arms.

Ariel closed her eyes nervously, her body stiffening as he hugged her.

His hand firmly held her waist, giving her no chance to escape.

He lowered his head in the darkness and spoke in a low voice, "Why is your waist so thin? Hmm?"

Ariel's face flushed, and she didn't know how to answer.

She had never been hugged by a man like this before.

Even through his T-shirt, she could clearly feel his strong body and the heat from him, making her heart race as she shrank back timidly.

"Are you afraid of me?" Rhysand's voice was low and cold. "Afraid that I'll eat you? Or..." He paused, sneering slightly. "Do you prefer someone like Callum?"

Ariel was nervous at first, but hearing his words, she suddenly became angry.

She raised her head and kicked him without hesitation.

Rhysand was kicked below the belt and groaned, his eyebrows furrowing tightly.

This was the second time!

He always thought Ariel was afraid of him, but he never expected her to dare to kick someone!

His face turned cold as he said in a low voice, "Ariel, who gave you the courage to kick me..."

Before he could finish, she kicked him again, even harder this time.

Rhysand was already lying on the edge of the bed, and this time he was caught off guard and kicked under the bed, taking several seconds to recover.

The distinguished Golden Family's third young master had never been kicked off the bed before!

Rhysand sat on the ground, his face dark, his eyes sharp.

Ariel was angry too.

She had shown no mercy in kicking him twice.

These past few days, he had been cold to her, but now he was bringing up the person she hated most.

She angrily said, "Rhysand, don't mention Callum in front of me today! I don't like him at all..."

Before she could finish, she suddenly felt dizzy as she was pressed onto the bed.

Rhysand firmly pinned her down, not allowing her to move, and said in a low voice, "You look so delicate and pretty, but you kick like a wildcat!"
