At dawn, Ariel stirred awake and blinked in surprise to find herself in bed.
Just as she was about to sit up, a faint floral fragrance caught her attention.
She turned her head and was stunned by the sight: a pot of beautiful red butterfly orchids sat beside her bed, more vibrant and full than she'd ever seen.
She'd been searching for these flowers for ages in Rain City but hadn't been able to find them.
Yet, somehow, Rhysand had remembered and brought them here.
Just then, Rhysand's calm voice came from behind her. "Awake? Drink some water first."
Ariel turned, noticing the cup of warm water he held out to her.
She reached out to take it but froze when she noticed a sparkling platinum ring on her finger—a ring with a tiny sapphire, pure and shining.
She looked over to Rhysand, who wore a matching ring on his finger, elegant and simple.
When did he even put this on me? she wondered, stunned.
