Royals in Purple
Year 1344 of The United Foundation
The capital city of Lysandra, Lyses is the largest in the United Foundation. The head of Lysandra is the Von Angelus family who reside and govern in Lyses. Lyses has been the nexus of power for the family, led by the eldest of the House Von Angelus since the unification of the foundation.
The city is diamond-shaped with a population of 450,000 people. Overhanging the city is a large mountain, and sitting atop the mountain is a magnificent limestone chateau glistening white.
The chateau is the oldest standing palace in all of the United Foundation, with the notable architecture of the palace being U-shaped. The feat was done during the time of the first Von Angelus family head, but architecture still is unable to duplicate it.
This was for the best as the palace took up much of the limestones from the mines, and greatly depleted the family's gemstone.
The once white palace was now grey with age and some of the stones along the wall began cracking years ago.
Among the inhabitants of the house in the east wing, four rooms down sat a young man reading a book. He had black curly hair flowing down barely gracing his shoulder. His skin was light brown in complexion with cloudy grey eyes. He was reading a book *The Blind Hermit*, with a reminiscent look.
The look vanished, and now a stony expression replaced it.
A knock came from the double doors of the study as an older gentleman with a pale complexion stepped through.
He was strikingly pristine with a resolute expression and pulled back long hair almost trailing down his shoulder. He walked with a cane, but it looked more like an accessory with purple gemstone adjoined down its spine.
"You read that story too much Alexander," said the older man.
Alexander looked up from his book, "it is the most adventure I will probably get in my life, Father" his father began brushing his shirt cuffs as he said, "Adventures aren't fun if you can't survive the journey"
Alexander slammed his book and stood cracking the oak desk, before he could fully stnas his father was right in front of him, cane still in hand,
"I Know you want to leave, go and find some grand adventure, some new land or unknown people but you can't even control yourself during a conversation what do you think would happen if you hit someone, or worse they saw you using two different power or technique. How would you explain that Alexander"
Alexander was now sitting again his father's hand on his shoulder.Alexander's began chewing at his gum, not looking at his father.Yet, his father seemed happy with a smirk across his face.
The older man lifted his arm off his son and began to leave but before he reached the double ivory doors he turned around, "I allow you this outburst because of your body but if you were your sister you'd be feeling a pressure greater than you can understand."
The doors slammed shut leaving Alexander alone in his thoughts.
Only about five minutes later another knock was heard from the doors and then a voice, "Sir the whisperer is here"
The two doors flew open to the surprise of the young man who had just spoken, "Good, he and the horses are getting faster. I will have to give them two gold coins on top of the 10 coppers"
"Sir, why do you not give them Lysandra currency?"
"Sometimes I forget you are not from a capital city Razier. Using Foundation currency is a sign of goodwill even among people you employ. You will see once you travel but the only currency guaranteed in every nation is the Foundation's currency" Razier nodded at this, his face and should drop slightly.
The young man Razier has short brunette hair with light blonde roots, it barely reaches his forehead even when wet. He was clad in chain mail armor, a long sword at his side. He looked at the young man he was trained to guard searching his grey eyes.
"That makes sense if you don't mind the comparison, we village folk do the same with other villagers, but the universal currency is crops or medicine."
Alexander's right side of his lip twitched up in a smirk, but hiding it with his hands as he spoke,
"That is true, you will find that no matter the different cultures, currencies, or size of a place people are the same. They want money, knowledge, and power and in some places, people want all three. Of course, people care about their family and village, but they would say they need those things to keep their family safe.Hell, my family is a prime example the Von Angelus family would give up our wealth and power for some village."
Razier's face went blank as he spoke almost unnaturally saying, "You shouldn't say such things, sir. If your family hadn't trained me, I'd still be just a village herbalist. Not that there's anything wrong with that mind you."
Alexander stopped walking and stood inches away from Razier's face and said nothing just searching his expression.
. Finally, what must have felt like hours for Razier as sweat slightly touched his forehead, Alexander backed away slightly saying, "Let's go pick up the shield."
In the east wing of the Von Angelus palace, there are 5 rooms, Razier and Alexander exited from the furthest door on the left side of the east wing hall. Across from them were two doors, which were the doors into Alexander's suite and Razier's rooms next to each other. They walked down the east wing hall about 120 feet long turning right into the center of the palace.
The center palace has three rooms, though the Hall of Blades is the hall leading into the main room. Exiting that room, or once you pass the last of the blades in the hall you reach the main room of the palace a 550,000 sq ft ballroom dazzled in marble and purple gems etched into the four corners of the hall.
Leaving the ballroom, you reach the front door a dazzling 15 by 15 ft double door made of ancient wood said to be from the Abyssal Forest. Alexander stopped walking noticing his guard was no longer following him, " Stop staring up the stairs it just goes up to the balcony".
Razier was still trying to see up the stairs, Alexander was about to speak again but was interrupted by his guard.
"Why do you need a balcony? Does it lead outside or somethin'?" Alexander opened the ancient door the sound echoing up the staircase, "I don't, and the balcony is above the ballroom" he said as he pulled open quite easily the towering double doors.
Outside the main entrance, a carriage was out front accompanied by the family horse whisperer. The whisperer bowed to Alexander and then began petting both horses on the snout. Putting his hand between both the horse's faces he spoke in a hushed whisper inaudible to the human ear.
The two horses were both about 7 feet tall and with strong stump-like legs. Both horses have glistening brown hair, muscle protrudes out from the fur.
The whisperer finished his tongue as the horses began stomping the ground taking off at full speed. The whisperer stood in the front of the carriage, as Alexander and Razier sat in the back.
To reach the Lyses from the Chateau it takes little less than five minutes with a well-bred horse, accompanied by the downward entrance into the city from the mountain
When you enter the city of Lyses from the mountainside the first thing you see is the greatest monument in all the federation the Colosseum of the builder. The first Von Angelus head was one of the first Artifact cultivators. He and his artifact were responsible for creating Lyses in a diamond shape, roads, walls, and all.
In the middle of the diamond is where the collegium stands tall. The Colosseum was the first Von Angelus head's last creation, and his son Emelys named it after his death (some members of the Von Angelus family believe the palace was his last creation, however, it's greatly debated in family records).
Four roads reach out of the Colosseum, east, south, north, and west. The roads split the city into four sections. The district northeast of the Colosseum is the tower district where you can find the dojo, armory, three hospitals, blacksmiths, libraries, and public tutors.
Northwest is the district of flowers where you will find gardens, herbalists, bookstores as well as what is called the day strip where you can find anything from a carpenter to a butcher, and local doctors and dentists.
The southeast district is known as the district of sin. This district is most notably known for arts such as dance, poetry, and music. Of course, this also means there are bars and illegal brothels mostly visited by selling swords and bandits who flunked Templar school.
The horses pulled the wagon onto the East Road to the tower district. Along the wagon was an emblem of a buck and a snake wrapped around its antlers. Entering each district are four house angelus guardsmen who opened the gate upon seeing the wagon. The guards greeted the wagon and whisperer as they flew by. The guards unrolled their fists from their breastplates showing the same buck and snake emblem of house Angeles.
The wagon entered the first street of the tower district heading towards the widest building at the end of the first street of the tower district. Upon the building was an emblem of a tree, the emblem stood for healing.
The whisperer spoke quietly, inaudibly again, upon his command the horses slowed to a paste in front of eight guards in matching white loincloth and chain mail.
They were armored from head to toe, the only decoration was four circles connected making an emblem on their breast please and the hilt of their swords.
The one guard, large and roughly unshaven stepped off of his horse, taking off his black helm and enrolling a piece of paper as he spoke commanding,
"The commander of the left leg of the foundation herby passes custody of the prisoner to Alexander Von Angelus, the eldest son of the LancerKing
