The voice in the agent's comms immediately responded, panicking
"Fuck! Did you just say leader jade, what is she doing there? Shit, i better call off the backup team!"
She removed the bracelet off his wrist and spoke through it
"Now listen closely, you are to deliver this message to your leaders. You all have just tried to harm something i have already claimed, and for that be expecting my full rage!" she said sternly, her voice unwavering
Henry just kept staring at her, he was stunned, but still confused "Who is this women, she looks so much like emily and where the hell is my help!" he thought
"Of course, my lady. I will do that right away," the voice on the other end replied, terrified
"Good. And as for you," she said, looking at the agent in front of her, who looked like he could shit himself at any moment
"You may leave, get lost!"
The agent thought he had heard wrong, he couldn't believe it. The merciless ice queen had just spared his life, he was filled with absolute joy
"Thank you so much, my lady.I'm grateful for your mercy," he said bowing to her, before getting on his feet and fleeing the area
"And you can tell those leaders of yours, that i, Felicity Myers, am coming for all of them!" She said to him as he left the alley
Henry froze, "Wait, Felicity Myers, as in, the ice queen, lady of mysteries and leader of Arcadia." He was utterly speechless, he knew he'd recognized her somewhere
When he was researching on mages, he had checked out a label that said 'Strongest mages in the world'. He went through it, and learnt about the top mages
Felicity Jade Myers was number 2 in the ranking and was even more powerful than four of theworld leaders, even though she only settled to become the leader of the biggest state in atlas; Arcadia. She was a powerhouse on her own and the most ruthless and dangerous person ever known.
"Of course, I'm such a fool," henry said inwardly, "Emily is her daughter, the myers name was boldly written on the agreement, and I totally overlooked it, thinking it was just another casual family,"
But the myers family weren't casual at all, after the carter family, they were the most reputable and the most powerful family in the world. Power, wealth, strength, beauty. They had it all.
Henry was lost in thought, he hadn't noticed that she was already in front of him
"I can't believe i rejected such an offer," he thought, filled with regret
"Yeah, if you had just signed, none of this agents would have lost their lives. This is on you," she said, pointing to the dead agents spread across the alley
Henry's heart skipped a beat, he immediately flinched backwards. He was deeply stunned "Shit, she can read minds!" he panicked, forgetting to be shocked at how she had suddenly appeared at his front
"Yes, i can, and your inner thoughts too."
"I can see your thoughts on my emily. My my, now that is not a moral way to envision intimacy with one's future sister," she teased him, smiling widely
"What! Get out of my head!" he screamed, having an embarrassed look on his face
"It's okay, i won't tell," she said
"Wow, she's really nice, it's so hard to imagine her as the one who dealt with 9 powerful agents mercilessly," he thought, clearly getting a full view of her face, she looked like she was in her late 30s, but henry knew better.
"Wait what does she mean by future..."
[Henry! This woman is a bit...different] Miley suddenly called out
"How do you mean?"
[She has a kind of energy, the same type that powers the system, it's a powerful energy. It's very little in her, almost non-existent but it's there]
"I see, that explains her terrifying strength," henry said, scrutinizing his mother to be
"Are you trying to check me out?" she suddenly asked
"What! fuck no, i would never. But i wonder how you found me, or even knew i was in danger?" henry asked
"Oh, you would have emily to thank for that, she notified me as soon as she left the guild. I knew Triad would be up to no good," she explained
"Oh, thanks for saving me, these guys wanted to actually melt my brain. Guess i would have to thank emily too," he said with gratitude, this woman had saved his life
"Finding you wasn't exactly hard, i only searched for a mind that was in distress, one that had incomplete memories, and was not...so innocent," she said, adding the last part with a smirk
"She's not only psychic with ice abilities, but also empathic, who is she?" henry thought
"Though, i have to ask, however did you escape Triad's base, that place is a fortress. I was originally on my way there, to make sure you were safe and in one piece," she continued, her tone hinting at curiosity
"Um...that's...i don't really know, all i remember was, i suddenly passed out and when I woke up, i was in the middle of the city." henry replied firmly
"Hmm, i can just take a look at your mind and see, but out of goodwill i respect your decisions to lie, but when I become your mother, it shall not be condoned," she replied softly, but it was laced with a warning
"This woman, she's just like jane; sweet but enigmatic and terrifying, xavier did mention that they were friends. Looks like she's still open to adopting me, but why," henry thought
"Why don't we find a better place to discuss, and talk about the offer you rejected," she continued, smiling. Then started to walk out of the alley, signaling for henry to follow her

They were now sitted in a restaurant, opposite one another. Henry was completely nervous, he didn't know what to say, there was a long sullen silence, before felicity decided to break it
"I should start by saying, i don't care about your past, or your secret, and definitely won't try to melt your brain like those fools," she chuckled
"I just want to adopt you as my son and make you a part of my family," She continued before henry could reply.
"Yeah, i think i get that already, but why me, a teenager. We're like...the worst," henry said with conviction
"Like i said before, it's not just any teenager, it's you i want," she said
"But why, I'm sure there are plenty of other children out there, who are more talented than me. I'm just a stupid kid who has no memories, no talents and worse, no mana cells, You'll be scorned at for adopting a weakling." henry replied
"I don't really care what others might think, and I'm sure if they want to keep their heads, they won't dare question my decisions," she frowned
"You say you don't have mana cells, but it doesn't mean you don't have abilities," she continued
Henry panicked "What does she mean by that, does she know about the system?"
"Haha, you're very funny, leader jade, i truly don't have any abilities," he laughed nervously
"Like I said before, i can just look into your mind, but I won't. Look i don't care about your secrets, well i might eventually, but i know you're special henry, you can tell everyone that you're useless and weak, but we both know that's a lie. Inside of you, there is great strength, one that exceeds every other,"
"Wow...it's like she knows me well?" henry thought, remembering a particular woman in his past life, who used to tell him the exact thing
[Of course, you bloody fool, she's been in your mind] Miley suddenly retorted, but henry ignored her, he was lost in memory lane already
"And don't call me that, you can call me mother," she continued, snapping henry out of his thoughts
"Huh?...yeah, of course. okay then I shall call you mother," he replied with a nervous smile
"Jeez, she's quite persistent, like she doesn't even want to hear a no, fuck, I'm out of options now aren't i? Better play this wisely," henry said to himself, knowing he couldn't afford to offend her
"Alright, I'll agree to be your son," he sighed
Felicity gleamed with joy, her faced brightened, she took out a familiar holographic tablet from her coat
Damn, she had that the whole time, men I really hope I'm not making a big mistake, but if she's related to jane, she couldn't be evil right?" henry thought
"Alright henry, sign with your name here," felicity said, handing him the tablet
"Uhm...actually, I have a small, tiny, little condition," henry managed to say, knowing that any mis-statement could cost him his head
"Okay, what would that be?" she asked curious
"I know that when i become your son, I'll be forced to live with you and all, but before officially joining the family, I'll like to live on my own for a while, let's say a month, do a little self discovery, you know," he said carefully, picking his words right
He remembered that he had a quest from the system to reach level 10 before the end of the month
"Okay fine, but know that this world is very dangerous and even more dangerous for ordinary humans, I'll accept your condition but it'll be under one of my own," felicity replied with a serious look
Henry nodded
"Good, first you'll be living in a location i choose, and you'll have to keep me informed, and..."
She listed more conditions, some pertaining to Henry's security and protection, others related to his needs and... wants.
Felicity was already behaving like a mother figure, giving henry rules and more rules that he must obey.
Then before leaving the restaurant, she got him a black hovercar, one that henry would only see in those sci-fi movies in his past life
She ordered for one of her trusted workers to come and act as henry's assistant and help him whenever he needed something, she had a suite prepared for him in one of her hotels in the city and finally gave him his own personal bracelet, as the one he has been given by Jane was taken from him when entering Triad's base earlier
Henry was incredibly happy, stunned but happy, he had literally acquired a bit of wealth, and he hadn't even signed the agreement yet
"Do i still even need to work for money anymore?" he thought, as he helped himself to a little feast Felicity had ordered for him just before she left
[Congrats hen, you found yourself a rich mother] Miley said
"What can I say, I'm just one lucky bastard," he said, as he tore the flesh off a large chicken lap
"But you know, I'm not a fool, I'm still going to try and gather my own wealth in this world, and get stronger while doing it. I won't be like those rich second generation, who laze around and party all day, spending their parents money lavishly," he said
[Well, that's good to hear, cause I just made an interesting discovery] Miley replied, her tone uncaring as always
"What that?" henry asked
[After encountering your new mother, i thought I'd spread my senses out and scan your planet for traces of that energy]
"Huh? What exactly is this energy and what did you discover," he asked, getting impatient
[It's called celestial energy; the energy of the gods, and it is widely present among some humans in this world] Miley replied
"So you saying there's more like me?"
[I don't know if its exactly that of actual gods, my senses can't distinguish them, but I'm sure of one thing, you're not the only celestial being on this planet]
