"What are celestial beings?" henry asked
Miley sighed [You are not so bright are you? Celestial beings are beings that posses celestial energy, it could be a god like you, a demi god or even a mortal, as long as they have the energy. They are considered celestials]
"Ookay, so what exactly is the deal with this energy?"
[It is an energy created by chaos, and originally granted unto every god, but as the years passed, chaos started to bestow it unto random mortals who have no relation to gods]
"Hmm, that's interesting,"
[Indeed, it's a very powerful energy, more powerful than magical energy and was considered the strongest kind of energy there is. The gods could use it in various kind of ways, to even projecting and manipulating it in whatever form] Miley continued
"So i can use it too?" henry asked with excitement
[Not until you have fully acquired herme's legacy] she replied
"I see, but she isn't a god... right?" he asked, obviously talking about Felicity
[No, she isn't a celestial being, the distribution falls in various categories; the gods, who have complete control over celestial energy. Then, the ones gifted with it, the energy empowers them, gives them certain abilities and allows them certain feats not possible for even the ones with mana. And then there's her kind, not born with it at all but traces are there in the genes, she is related to either a god or a normal celestial] Miley explained
Henry nodded in understanding "So should I be vary of celestials at all? and if I'm to acquire herme's legacy, what about the other gods of this world, where are they?"
[Yes, be careful around any celestial you encounter, just like you are able to sense them, they are able to sense you too] She warned
[As for the other gods, i truly don't remember, I'll advise you learn about this world's mythology on celestials]
"Hmm, i would definitely do that," he replied, getting up from his seat, having finished his meal
"What is taking whoever mother called so long. I'm getting bored and... alone." henry thought, with a hint of fear
[About that, don't you think you accepted that offer so easily. It was foolish to trust her] Miley said with a bit of concern
"Relax, i know what I'm doing, there must be a reason they want me so badly and I'm going to figure it out during this one month," Henry replied
[Hmm, alright just be careful]
"You got it, besides I'll be able to receive some... benefits which i can trade for shop points, it's all about seeing the big picture. In the end, everyone's just a means to an end," He added with a smirk
[Hmm, i didn't know you were quite the diabolic schemer] Miley jeered
"Believe me, there are things you don't know about me,"
Miley: [...]
[What the hell are you talking about, I've been in your goddamn mind] She said with a slight giggle
Henry ignored her, he walked out of the restaurant to check out the vehicle which Felicity had gotten him. His face gleamed with excitement before coming to a sudden realization
"I can't drive," he voiced out as he facepalmed himself
"Well don't worry, the vehicle has an autopilot system,"
A voice replied from behind him, he immediately turned around to see who it was
To Henry's surprise, it was none other than Xavier. He stood tall, smiling wryly at henry
"What are you doing here?" henry asked, his voice dull and filled with displeasure
Xavier sighed as his smile was replaced with a sorry expression
"Look kid, I'm really sorry, i didn't know those guys would try something like that, even after jane had visited the commander personally," he said apologetically
Henry didn't reply, he just kept staring at xavier with no expression on his face
"Gerta filled me in about your call, and I immediately left the guild and began to look all over the city for you, i was about to contact jane when I received a call from Felicity."
"She explained everything to me and i decided to take the responsibility of being your assistant and bodyguard," Xavier continued, the awkward smile back on his face
"What! He actually agreed to be my... ugh, it doesn't even matter anymore," henry thought, as a sigh escaped his lips
"You told me not to worry," he began
"Emily warned me, but I didn't listen to her, all because you said it was going to be fine. If she hadn't showed up and stopped those agents, i would have become a vegetable by now or worse, dead," he voiced out with frustration
"Yeah, i admit it was my fault, but even if you didn't want to go, Triad would have taken you anyways and we wouldn't have been able to stop them," xavier replied
Henry knew that xavier was right, they wouldn't have let him go with the agents if they had any choice
"Fine, so what now?" he asked
"You should be free from them, now that... you know," xavier replied raising his hands slightly to the hovercar
"Yeah, it's a cool car isn't it," henry voiced out
"I can't believe you later agreed to the adoption, earlier today you sounded like you weren't even going to give them a chance," xavier said looking suprised
"Well i thought I'd give family a go," henry replied with a guilty smile, knowing within himself the true reason he accepted the offer.
"Besides she's associated with jane, and i trust jane so..." he paused
"Wait, where is jane?" henry asked
"Oh, she went for a family thing. But she sends her regards, you'd be surprised at how she moves around a lot," xavier replied
"Wow, she must be an important person," henry chuckled
"You have no idea kid, anyways we should get moving, nights setting in. I have the address to the place your mum booked for you." xavier said
Henry handed him the keys before they got into the hovercar. The engines came to life and the vehicle ascended slowly and gently before zooming away into the sky express.
They arrived at a large hotel, it was a tall and magnificent silver building that radiated with life.
He and xavier entered the main reception and were directed to the highest floor in the building where the suite occupied.
They stepped into the royal suite, both their eyes widening in awe. The spacious room unfolded before them, bathed in warm, golden light that spilled from crystal chandeliers above.
The living area contained velvet sofas in rich, emerald green were arranged around a polished, ebony coffee table, adorned with intricate silver filigree. Floor-to-ceiling windows offered breathtaking views of the city skyline, and a marble staircase that led to the other rooms
Henry's gaze roamed, taking in the majestic view of the subtle, eye-catching motifs that danced across walls and furnishings, echoing Felicity's elegant taste.
They were both astonished, it was too delightful
"Wow, i have to say, this is some place she prepared for you, it must be a special abode, reserved just for her," Xavier said, stunned at the interior of the suite
"I get to live here for a month, this can't get any better!" Henry screamed in his head, excitedly
"Alright kid, get some rest and familiarize yourself with the place. We start training tomorrow," Xavier added
"Yeah i definitely will d... wait, training, what training?" he asked with a frown
"Felicity asked me to teach you a few things, and also ensure you're in good shape. So tomorrow morning, we'll have a little workout then I'll teach you a thing or two about combat,"
Henry sighed "This woman had to come and intrude my schedule, how I'm supposed to go hunting now," henry thought, frustration written all over his face
Xavier noticed this and added
"Don't worry, you'll have lots of time to explore the city and do whatever... it is you wanna do," he said with a smile
"Fine, what about hunting beasts?" henry asked
Xavier had a look of confusion "Why would he care about hunting, does he think he can fight them?" he thought
"Sorry kid, your mother forbade you from any hunting ground, but don't worry, we'll still have lots of fun,"
"Hmm, i knew it, even when I haven't fully become her son, I'm already restricted. I wonder what happens when I do," henry thought
"Alright, i guess I'll have to follow the rules," he voiced out, with an awkward smiled
"Okay kid, have a good night." Xavier waved before leaving the room
As he left, a huge grin appeared on henry's face
"Like i said before, teenagers are the worst. The rules don't apply to us," he thought before moving around from room to room exploring every inch of the suite
It was even more magnificent with the other luxury features it had to offer. There were 2 bedrooms altogether, it had a grand dining room and a private study
it had a large balcony that led to an infinity pool giving a magnificent view of the city. It was truly a heavenly haven.
Henry took a hot shower and got into a warm robe before jumping on the king-sized fuzzy bed
"Now this is the life," he thought as a very relaxed sigh escaped his lips
He turned on his new bracelet and continued his exploration of the web, he researched on various things, from hunting grounds to maps of hunting grounds and things to be aware of when going hunting.
He noted all of this, and made a quick plan for the next day, before slowly falling asleep
--------
It was night already, in Arcadia, the moon was out, illuminating the earth with it's light
Felicity stood on the balcony of her room, she was staring at the moon, lost in her thoughts, when a voice suddenly echoed in her ears
"Were you successful?"
The voice didn't seem to have come from anywhere in the surroundings, there was no one with her neither was there a communication device. It was all in her mind
"Yes, i have adopted the boy," she replied casually to the voice not looking fazed or surprised
"Good," the voice replied, it was hoarse and deep
"How is he like?"
"Well, he's exactly as you said he would be, he's definitely a kid, sweet but a bit immature, and maybe too trusting. I see potential in him, he just needs the right tutoring," Felicity replied
"That's good to hear, i trust you would handle him well," the voice said
"Of course, I'll treat him like my very own son and make sure to train and protect him," she said, determination in her eyes
"Make sure he's taught well and prepared for what's to come, I'll be in touch with you from time to time. Farewell jadey," the voice said before dispersing into nothing but silence.
Felicity could feel it, the person's voice and presence was completely gone. She sighed
"Farewell... Father," she voiced out slowly and softly.
