Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"Crash!"

The bus ran over a young lady crossing the road, throwing her a few meters, blood pooling on the ground with a drizzle of rain hitting her pale body.

She stood up, looking at her body on the ground with loud crowds gathered, and screams.

Her eyes were blank as she saw her body on the ground, still in shock. She tried to touch her body, but her hands passed through. Suddenly, a dark female figure appeared beside her with a black skull book in hand.

"Name: Cassandra Blue- Female, Age:24 Death: 16th November 2025."

A pen appeared in her hand as she wrote her words, her eyes glowing green as it read the woman's life.

"I am dead." These were the first words that left the woman's lips as she turned to the shadowy figure.

The shadow figure said nothing, waiting for the soul to realize it herself.

"I'm dead aren't I?" Tears poured out of the woman's eyes as she cried.

"Don't be disheartened, Your records are clear. You will go into reincarnation." The shadow words calmed the young woman.

"It's time to leave." A Red scythe appeared in the shadow's hand; it swung to the soul, making it turn into wisps of bright light- going straight to the underworld before reincarnation.

"One billion souls. Complete." The shadow became visible, a young woman appearing with a smile on her lips. Today is her day of retirement, and peaceful reincarnation is promised to her after the completion of her number of souls.

She stretched with an excited smile on her face. A black shadow covered her, and she vanished.

Appearing in a black office, she saw her fellow workers, dressed in black suits and a black hat. Seeing her, they congratulated her on her retirement; she smiled as she passed them, going straight to her boss's office.

An old white-haired man was sipping his wine in a peaceful time when he heard a knock on the door.

He sighed dropping the cup on the table with a cup already there looking the same.

"Come in," He said in a commanding tone, and the young woman entered. She walked in and sat in front of her boss, staring at him for the last time, knowing she wouldn't remember her strict boss after reincarnation.

"Congratulations, Grim Reaper. Your retirement will be given as promised." He went straight to the point, wanting to settle her matter to indulge in his spirit wine.

"Thank you, Sir." She was eager to leave, already tired, and needed her rest, starting afresh as a newborn, her new life.

"Drink the cup of forgetfulness." He moved a cup to her, and she drank it all. With a flicker of his fingers, a door appeared in thin air.

"Go in." He watched her leave and the door closed and vanished. He leaned against his chair and picked up his wine. Taking a sip, his eyes widened- this was the drink of forgetfulness, and what she drank was his wine.

His eyes darted around subconsciously; he coughed into his hands and looked at the clock, pretending nothing had happened.

****

As soon as she walked out the door, her mind buzzed, and her vision blurred; she was walking in a line to reincarnation. She calmed herself, feeling it was the drink of forgetfulness working its magic.

She paused in her steps to clear her head but she was pushed out of the line by the souls walking blankly into the light.

She shook her head trying to clear her vision, her feet was wobbly and her vision doubled.

With much effort, she continued walking, the thought of her peaceful reincarnation firm in her mind, and she didn't know she had strayed away from the reincarnation section, entering into the transmigration line and walking into the light.

"Your Majesty!" Her advisor called out to the Queen, seeing her in a daze for the last ten minutes. He wondered what was wrong with this young queen- he was already old to be doing this job.

"Leave." The woman said these words and the old man bowed and left the private study.

"Bang!"

The old man walked faster when he heard that sound, the first time seeing Her Majesty show any emotions except for gloominess.

Inside, the table was split in two, "what's these? Is this the peaceful life she was promised with no memories?" The woman heaved, from anger, her silver hair floating at her back, her purple eyes turned darker with her emotions.

She felt scammed; all she planned was to live a normal life, marry an honest man, and raise a kid or two before she died of old age. Can someone tell her why she entered this body with all her memories intact after she drank a cup of forgetfulness?

Then a split headache came, she held the chair to stop herself from falling to the ground. Flashes of memories that are not her's pierced into her mind. This body- Elora Raven, the young queen of Palaverda kingdom in Seraphis planet. A short-lived Queen who died three days after her coronation.

And she just had to enter this body in this world that swallows you whole without spitting out your bones - a fantasy world where creatures and magic exist.

"Ahhhh!" She screamed the only reasonable reaction her body could show when being thrown onto a throne where all her relatives were ready to murder for, in fact, they succeeded since she was here.

She covered her face, feeling like brawling out all her frustrations and anger. Her peaceful retirement was all flushed down the toilet.

She needs to go to sleep; later, she will face this minefield situation. Maybe if she woke up, she would be back at her old job- gathering souls.

She gave herself false hope, as she left the room.

"Boom!" She walked through the wall, forgetting she was human and couldn't pass through walls like she used to.

She stood there stunned for a minute and continued moving forward; she passed shocked female guards, looking like Amazon women, solidifying the knowledge that she was in a fantasy land.

She ignored them, not having the strength to work her brain cells; she needed to lay her head and sleep; it seemed all years of work were catching up to her soul. She yawned and followed this body's memory to her room.

The guards looked at each other, shock mirroring their gaze.
