Chapter 42 - Three Luminaries!

After a considerable amount of time had passed,

Looking at the incessantly chattering Lasvido, who had already extolled the Royal Cultivation Academy to the skies yet still continued without pause, Link couldn't help but twitch the corners of his mouth. Finally, he interrupted, "My lord, if you have something to say, please just say it directly. There's no need to beat around the bush!"

Lasvido was taken aback for a moment upon hearing this, but he quickly regained his composure and laughed heartily, "Haha, very well, I'll be straightforward then!"

At this point, Lasvido pondered for a moment before stating emphatically, "I would like to invite both of you to join our 'Royal Cultivation Academy'!"

"Oh!"

Link feigned surprise, though he had already guessed Lasvido's intentions; he was merely pretending not to see through it!

"But I promised my father that I would join the 'Imperial Cultivation Academy'..."

Link pretended to be somewhat troubled, but in reality, to him, whether it was the "Imperial Cultivation Academy" or the "Royal Cultivation Academy," it was all just a formality—there was essentially no difference!

However, Lasvido seemed like an easy mark, and adhering to the principle that one should seize every opportunity, Link had already made up his mind to take full advantage of him...

"Although you two young brothers possess considerable strength, you should be unaware that this time, the renowned 'Three Luminaries' of the Empire will also be participating in the entrance examination for the Imperial Cultivation Academy!" Lasvido said in a solemn tone.

"'Three Luminaries'? What is that?" Link asked, looking bewildered, while Ron behind him was equally confused.

"You don't even know that?" Lasvido frowned!

"Honestly, I don't!" Link nodded honestly.

"You plan to participate in the entrance examination for the Imperial Cultivation Academy, yet you haven't even heard of the 'Three Luminaries'? I'm genuinely curious about how thick your skin must be..."

Lasvido chuckled in disbelief, shaking his head. "Forget it, let me explain it to you!"

He paused for a moment before continuing, "The 'Three Luminaries' are the three most outstanding young cultivators of the Empire today. Their deeds are widely sung by bards, and throughout the Radiant Empire, they are known to all!"

"Oh?" Link raised an eyebrow, suddenly intrigued, and eagerly asked, "Who are these three?"

"Don't rush me, let me tell you slowly."

Lasvido shook his head and said solemnly, "The 'Three Luminaries' are not ranked in any particular order. One of them is named Leo, hailing from the hereditary marquis family of 'Wolsen.' He is known as the 'Golden War Lion.' It is said that his fighting spirit shines as brilliantly as gold, and its power far exceeds that of ordinary fighting spirits. Although he is merely a level 9 junior warrior, he has defeated intermediate cultivators in battles beyond his level, showcasing extraordinary strength!"

"The 'Golden War Lion'?"

Link and Ron exchanged glances almost instinctively, finally realizing the true identity of the person who had previously demanded a ransom!

"No wonder that guy was so arrogant; he has such a big reputation!"

Link murmured to himself, but then he smiled confidently!

Although he had been forced to flee from Leo before, a person can change in just three days. With the completion of the "Advanced Tomb," he now possessed strength on par with Leo!

Link was confident that with the endless army of undead from the Necropolis at his disposal, no matter how capable Leo was, he would be beaten to the point of not recognizing his own father!

With that thought, Link lost interest. He had already seen Leo's strength, and it was nothing extraordinary. How much more could the other two, who shared his fame, possibly stir up?

"What about the other two?"

Ron, however, seemed quite interested in the 'Three Luminaries' and eagerly pressed Lasvido for more information.

Lasvido smiled upon hearing this and continued, "The second of the 'Three Luminaries' is named Ockham, known as the 'Destructive Hurricane.' He comes from the hereditary count family of 'Edward.' He is a level 8 junior mage, but it is said that he has a natural affinity for wind elements, allowing him to cast spells at incredible speed, even unleashing several instant-cast attack spells!"

"Wow, instant-cast spells, that's impressive!" Ron's eyes sparkled with excitement!

"Please, I can cast all my spells instantly!" Link rolled his eyes, silently cursing in his heart!

"As for the last of the 'Three Luminaries,' he is truly remarkable!" At this point, Lasvido intentionally built suspense.

"What makes him so impressive?" Ron eagerly leaned in, straining to hear more.

"Although the 'Three Luminaries' are not ranked in any particular order, the last one is universally recognized as the strongest. In terms of potential, neither 'Golden War Lion' Leo nor 'Destructive Hurricane' Ockham can be compared to him!"
