Chapter 43 - The Son of the Dragon!

"Indeed, as long as he doesn't fall midway, I can almost guarantee that his future achievements will reach at least the level of a fifth-tier practitioner!" Lasvido said in a deep voice.

"Oh?"

This time, even Link became intrigued, casting a curious glance, eager to learn about the young man who could impress a high-ranking mage like Lasvido.

"Sir, please don't keep us in suspense. Just tell us who this person is!" Ron exclaimed, his face a picture of impatience.

"Ha ha, the last individual is named Roy Adams, and he is a commoner!" Osvido declared, leaving no room for doubt.

"What? A commoner?"

Both Link and Ron were taken aback simultaneously!

It's important to note that while there are indeed many powerful commoners among the three major professions in Roland Continent, they face severe limitations in terms of training resources and education compared to the nobility.

In other words, the probability of a commoner becoming a strong practitioner is far lower than that of a noble!

This is the fundamental reason why most nobles can thrive for generations, while commoners find it difficult to change their fate!

Yet Link never expected that the strongest among the Three Luminaries would be a commoner!

"Indeed, he is a commoner!"

Lasvido nodded with certainty and continued, "Roy Adams, born a commoner, is a level 1 intermediate summoner with a sixth-tier summoning talent. His level is already the highest among the 'Three Luminaries,' but that's not all!"

"What truly makes him powerful is his summoned beast—a young red dragon!"

"Dragons?"

"Dragons?"

"Dragons?"

As soon as Lasvido finished speaking, three exclamations rang out in succession!

The first came from Ron.

The second, naturally, was from Link!

As for the third, it echoed from within Link's heart—the Big Eye Demon!

"Big Eye Demon, why are you out?"

Suppressing the tumult of emotions within, Link quietly asked in his heart.

"Don't rush, Master. Let this old man finish first," the Big Eye Demon replied, its tone tinged with impatience and eagerness!

Link raised an eyebrow at this but chose not to press further, instead refocusing his attention on Lasvido.

"Indeed, it is a dragon, and a true dragon at that, not one from the 'Beast Realm!'"

Lasvido lifted his head, a look of nostalgia on his face as he said, "As we all know, dragons have always been synonymous with power, standing at the pinnacle of our Roland Continent. And somehow, Roy Adams stumbled upon a dragon egg lost by a red dragon in the Beast Mountain Range!"

"After careful nurturing, the red dragon successfully hatched, and Roy then signed a 'life-and-death contract' with it. Through the power of this contract, he gained all the talents of the dragon race, which led to his current achievements!"

"So that's how it is!" Link exclaimed, suddenly enlightened!

No wonder Roy was recognized as the strongest among the Three Luminaries!

It turned out there was such a twist to his story!

It's worth noting that dragons are inherently proud creatures; it is exceedingly difficult for an adult dragon to sign a contract with a human practitioner!

However, a young dragon is akin to a newborn baby, seeing the first person it encounters as its mother. Thus, when Roy signed the contract with it, there was no resistance at all. Indeed, as Lasvido said, he was incredibly lucky!

"Now you should understand!" After explaining the twists and turns of the Three Luminaries, Lasvido turned his gaze back to Link and Ron.

"Understand? Understand what?" Link frowned and asked.

"Fool!"

Lasvido said, exasperated, "With these three top talents involved, no matter how gifted you are, how can you possibly surpass them?"

"The headmaster of the Imperial Academy of Cultivation, Morton, is an old acquaintance of mine. Based on my understanding of him, he will spare no resources in nurturing the 'Three Luminaries.' As for others, he won't even glance their way!"

"And you two, while your strength is commendable, what difference does it make if you join the Imperial Academy? You'd merely be supporting characters, guaranteed to be overlooked!"

"That's why I say, you might as well join our Royal Academy of Cultivation. With your talents, as the headmaster, I can assure you that you will not be neglected!"

"This…"

Upon hearing this, Link and Ron instinctively exchanged glances, finally grasping the true purpose behind Lasvido's lengthy discourse.

"Master, why don't we just agree to him?"
