According to Schroedinger's law, certainty is only gained through observation. If something is not observed, it can therefore exist as a multitude of things at the same time. For instance, there might be a lot of people named Sakakibara in this school, or there could be only a few, or maybe even just one. The only way to know for certain is by finding out exactly which Sakakibara this member is. Yes, that is certainly one way to do things.
Or
I could let the principle of uncertainty continue on, like Schroedinger's immortal cat. Besides, what could I possibly hope to gain if I do confirm that the member Mr. Hirashi mentioned is none other than Mr. Popularity himself, Sakakibara Daiki? None. Absolutely nothing. So, it would be in my best interest to just let it go and move on.
As I swing the door to Mr. Hirashi's office wide open, I hear a sudden yelp come from the other side. Standing, or maybe staggering backward might be a more appropriate description, before me is a second year female student. How did I know she's a second year? It's simple: As she came into view, I saw that she was wearing a red ribbon on her uniform, indicating that she's a second year student.
Yep, her ribbon was totally the reason I looked at that part of her uniform. It's definitely not because of her huge breasts…
Although now that I think about it, those do look familiar.
"Waah! You scared me! Why'd you suddenly open the door like that?"
She suddenly blurts out, sounding somewhat annoyed. I take a quick glance at her face and immediately notice a pair of stunning blue eyes staring back at me.
This unique feature alone should make her stand out among the entire student body. So, I feel like I should know who she is. But there are too many damn students in this school for me to remember each of their names and traits. Unless you are at the top of the food chain like Sakakibara Daiki or someone like Kurebayashi, I'm not gonna remember your name! In any case, I should probably apologize to her first.
"Ah, my bad. I didn't think someone was going to be behind the door when I opened it."
"I-it's totally fine! Not that I'm mad or anything. I was just surprised, you know?"
She says it's fine, so I take that as a sign that I'm free to go. Saying nothing more, I move past her to continue on my way. That is until I feel a slight tug on the sleeve of my uniform, making me halt in place.
"Wait, Sugiyama-kun! I was… wondering if I could ask you something."
I turn back around to face her, trying my best to keep a straight face. I know it's only a tug on the sleeve, but that still counts as physical interaction and it's making me feel really nervous somehow.
Wait, why is she looking at me with such pleading eyes? And why is she fidgeting with her fingers so much? And why the heck is the sunset hitting the first floor hallway at just the right angle that makes it look like we're in the middle of a rom-com confession scene?!
Now that I have a closer look at her, she's actually fairly attractive. Her large expressive blue eyes, small supple lips, and stylish bob cut hair give her the appearance of a foreign super model. Oh man, is this what the build-up to a confession feels like? Is that what's happening right now?!
No, probably not.
"Uhh… Yeah sure, what is it?"
"... Could you please not tell anyone that I was here? Please?"
"S-sure? No problem."
Though I have no idea why she would even think that I have anyone to tell this to.
"That's a relief… Thank you, Sugiyama-kun! I sure do owe you one, huh?"
"It's fine. But how do you know who I am?"
"What do you mean? We're classmates, of course I'd know you."
Are we? I rack my brain, trying to cling to any memory about who this girl is. Unfortunately, I'm such a dumb ass when it comes to remembering people that I can't even remember my own classmates! It's fine though, just gotta play it cool and remove myself from this situation.
"Ah, yeah right. W-we're classmates, duh. Silly me. Okay, see you tomorrow then."
"Wait, hold up! You seriously didn't know we were classmates!? Do you not recognize me even after months being in the same class?"
"O-of course I do!"
"Then, what's my name?"
Crap! This is the worst possible way this situation could have played out. Okay, wait, let's think this through. She's attractive and stylish, making it safe to assume that she's rather popular. Next, if she's in my class, that would put her in the same group as Sakakibara and the bitchy queen. Now in that friend group, there's only one other girl beside the queen bitch, and it's most likely this girl! Now, earlier when they were talking, she mentioned a cafe and the name of someone. And that name is…
"... Ashura!"
"It's Asuka! Asamura Asuka!"
Yep, I'm screwed. All that I can do now is take a page out of Mr. Hirashi's book.
"Welp, that's all from me. Best I head out now."
I don't even wait for a response and just bolt away. Ahh, how I wish death would come for me now!
