Jian's resolve crumbled as hours passed in darkness. Liang Zheng's loyalists had left him battered and bruised.
Just when despair seemed inevitable, Ling's thoughts pierced the darkness. "Jian Yu, hold on! We're near."
Footsteps echoed outside, followed by muffled voices. The door creaked open.
Brother Fang entered, his eyes shining with determination. "Time to leave, Jian Yu."
Ling followed, her movements swift and silent. Together, they freed Jian from his restraints.
Ling led the way, her knowledge of Imperial City's hidden passages and secret routes proving invaluable.
"Stay close," she whispered, as they navigated the dark corridors.
Brother Fang followed, his staff at the ready, prepared to defend them if necessary.
Jian, still weakened from his ordeal, leaned on Ling for support.
As they turned a corner, guards patrolling the East Wing came into view.
Ling swiftly pulled Jian and Brother Fang into a nearby alcove.
"Wait," she breathed, her eyes locked on the guards.
The guards paused, suspicious, but Ling's quick thinking had concealed them.
Once the guards continued their patrol, Ling signaled for them to proceed.
They moved swiftly, avoiding detection.
Reaching a hidden door, Ling produced a key and unlocked it.
The door creaked open, revealing a narrow tunnel.
"Follow me," Brother Fang said, leading them through the tunnel.
The tunnel led to a network of sewers, which they navigated with haste.
Finally, they emerged into the night air, Imperial City's skyline gleaming in the distance.
Ling helped Jian onto a waiting horse, Brother Fang mounting beside him.
As they rode toward the sanctuary, Jian glanced back at Imperial City.
Liang Zheng's palace loomed, a symbol of oppression.
But Jian knew he'd found allies, and together, they'd bring justice to Imperial City.
As they escaped the East Wing, Jian stumbled, his injuries overwhelming him.
Ling supported him, her voice soothing. "We're almost safe."
They navigated Imperial City's hidden passages, avoiding Liang Zheng's guards.
As they reached Brother Fang's sanctuary, a secluded temple hidden within Imperial City, Jian felt a sense of relief wash over him.
Brother Fang helped Jian dismount, leading him to a cozy chamber filled with soothing incense and soft candlelight.
Ling assisted Jian onto a comfortable bed, where Brother Fang began tending to his wounds.
"Rest, Jian Yu," Brother Fang said, his hands gentle. "You're safe now."
Jian's gaze met Ling's, gratitude swelling in his chest.
"Thank you," he whispered.
Ling smiled, her eyes shining with warmth.
As Brother Fang finished treating Jian's injuries, a warm meal was brought in.
Jian devoured the food, feeling strength return to his body.
After eating, Brother Fang began to examine Jian's mind.
"Your gift is powerful, Jian Yu," Brother Fang said. "But Liang Zheng's manipulation has left scars."
Jian nodded, understanding.
Brother Fang's eyes locked onto his. "We'll help you heal. And together, we'll bring down Liang Zheng."
Ling stepped forward, determination etched on her face.
"We have a plan, Jian Yu. Are you ready to join us?"
Jian's resolve solidified.
"I'm in. What's the plan?" He asked with a smirk on his face
