"You have to excuse me, Scot, with the mess." Saige turned to her guest as he walked her to the main door. "I did not have time to clean up."
It was one of the reasons she sold the place. It was hard to maintain, especially when it was just her and her brother.
"No worries, Saige. You know I don't judge. I am not exactly good at cleaning either." He reminded her of his sloppy dorm room back in college.
Yeah, she guessed, remembering that her friend was not like the bullies who had made her life miserable back in high school. Scot was different.
"Besides, we are moving to another place soon." She did not know why she suddenly mentioned it to him. But she remembered that they would also need to pack their things.
