Maya was once madly in love with Zenon, from the first day she laid her eyes on him she was mesmerized by his beauty and the power he commanded, but she never once showed her true feelings in fear of rejection because at the time she was at the bottom of the food chain in the social hierarchy of the nobles.
Until she climbed her way up the social ladder and became a close servant of the prince, legitimate son of the king and next in line to rule the kingdom , did she finally have the courage to approach him and confess her feelings , but as quickly as she confessed , was just as quickly as she was turned down, she couldn't accept that she was turned down, after all every man she had set her eyes on always became hers in the end, even the prince could not help but fall for her charms, so why was he any different.
She couldn't accept that she was rejected and thought the only option left was to seduce him, which was the biggest mistake she would have made, once again she got rejected but this time he was very harsh with his words and even insulted her and deemed her as shameless.
He couldn't be bothered and had far more important things that needed his attention, so he could not waist a single second on something so irrelevant .
He ignored her completely and never again looked in her direction. Maya seeing how cold he had grown towards made her furious.
Present day....
Remembering all that happened fueled her anger, he had turned her down rather harshly and here he was at a brothel and still ignoring her.
"Hey did you not here me speak to you, what are you doing here?" Maya asked, her facial expression not hiding her anger and irritation .It was insulting for a lady of her status to be ignored like this .
Zenon finally glanced at her," even after I have turned you down so many times , do you never get tired of seeking my attention, how pathetic" Zenon mocked as a sly grin plastered on his face.
Maya could not take it any more and out of anger tried using her power to hurt him even when she knew it was of no use, he was the only person in the kingdom who could not be affected by magic , but at that moment she had being blinded by anger to think straight ,and just as she attacked him, it quickly deflected.
Zenon scoffed, and shoved her ," know your place" he said looking down on her.
Just then her guard stepped in between them, he had not intervened because he was in no place to raise a sword against Zenon, and he had not raised a hand against Maya, but seeing as he pushed her onto the floor he had to come in between them, and he waisted no time pulling out his sword.
Cold sweat rolling down the side of his face, he had heard all about Zenon the blood thirst general and he knew he could no how match his strength but, his sole job was to escort Maya and protect her from harms way.
Zenon chuckled at the sight of the guard shaking in fear, he had no interest in fighting with an innocent guard who was doing his job, knowing that it will only take him a second to kill the guard, he turned around and walked away from them meeting with his guards that accompanied him to the brothel.
Zenon watched as Maya got on her feet and headed in the direction belle had ran to. Even in the midst of the chaos she was still bent on chasing after belle. What was her connection to belle. Zenon couldn't help but wonder.
He didn't bother going after Maya , he knew that belle would be long gone by now, so she was safe for now. he stared into the darkness belle had disappeared into, wondering if he would ever see her again.
"General" I think we should leave now before the fire get's worse. one of Zenon guard spoke up behind him.
He had no other reason to linger around here, "Yes let us be on our way" Zenon said.
They made their way into their carriage and as it drove away, Zenon couldn't help but look behind the horses and unto the forest covered in darkness. The night was cold and extremely dark he knew it would be hard for belle to find her way out and about the forest.
He also knew it was only a five percent chance out of a hundred for any one to survive a night in the forest because of the creatures of the night that lurked and preyed on any one who dared enter the forest at night, and apart from that Belle was a woman, there was a high chance that she wouldn't make it out alive.
He felt restless just thinking about it, but he tried not to think about it after all, she was only a woman he met in a brothel, he couldn't get attached.
