A human, with this much power if I could absorb her then I would be the most powerful creature in the kingdom and with how she hasn't attacked me or defended herself it seems she doesn't know how to wield her power, how lovely. The manta grinned at the thought of this.
The manta smiled as it reached it's hands out to belle, but before he could do anything he felt the presence of another creature which was just like him self but much stronger.
He looked around wondering were it would come from , when he turned back to check on belle , the second manta was already standing before her sizing her up.
"I didn't expect to run into a human with so much power, if I absorb you I would be invincible, you were made for me" the second manta sneered at her as he spoke.
The first manta was immediately enraged seeing how he was ignored and treated like he wasn't even there.
The first manta immediately expanding his form, bristling with shadows," you can not have her .I already encountered her first, she is mine"
"A manta like you can do nothing but talk, I am obviously stronger than you and unless you would like to die this night, then it will be in your interest to back off."
The first manta stood it's ground it wasn't everyday he came across a weak human with so much power, if only he could absorb her no one would dare challenge him again, so he could not go away, instead releasing his aura and showing the other manta that he wasn't going to back off.
And with that they clashed, their dark shadow tendrils hitting each other as dark magic erupted from both mantas, crashing together in a violent wave, slashing through the air with blinding speed as the trees around them shook.
Taking advantage of the chaos , belle turned to run even though she had twisted her ankle she had to force her self to run, ignoring the sharp pain that came with each step. But it wasn't enough, she wasn't fast enough.
Suddenly one of the mantas appeared in front of her, a creepy smile splitting it's face as he approached her. "Where do you think you are going? It sneered as it looked at her.
It stretched it's hand out to her as if reaching for her core, immediately belle screamed, the pain was unbearable, she could see a strong red thick flow of magic leaving her body ,she felt like her soul was being torn apart from the inside, she could feel the manta draining her life force as more of the magic left her body. the more it took the more she felt so weak, she was down on her knees not able to stand on her two feet.
The manta laughed. satisfaction flashing in it's eyes as he could feel the power surge through him. "Yes....Yes more, give me more of your power."
Belle felt so weak only being able to hear the crackling laughter of the manta.
But then the manta's laughter faltered, as it turned into a fearful gasp. No....No, No, No....what are you doing, what is this? it said as it clutched it's own chest.
Belle looked at the manta and noticed that she was no longer the one being drained- instead she was the one draining him, the manta's power flowed into her as it let out a loud scream of pain, her skin tingled as she felt the overflow of dark magic coursing through her veins.
The manta let out a final scream before it crumbled looking like a dried up tree. Belle stood , trying to catch her breathe and understand what had just happened, her limbs felt to heavy ,her skin so tight like she was carrying something so heavy.
She didn't have chance to gather her thoughts before the second manta reappeared, It looked and knew that she was ow extremely weak from absorbing the second manta. This was the perfect opportunity and he would not let it slip.
Belle noticed the look in his eyes and knew what he was thinking by the look o his face , she became scared.
She turned to run but her body was to heavy , her ankle hurting , her movement sluggish, she didn't know what to do and the manta was closing in fast, just when she thought it was over ,an old man appeared from the shadows.
Without any effort the man raised his hand, a brilliant flash of light burst from his palm, slamming into the manta, the manta let out a loud shriek as it crumbled and disappeared from plain site.
Belle was immediately on her guard thinking this was another person or thing trying to harm her, she tried backing away but was to weak to even take another step. her knees going weak as she collapsed unto the floor.
The last thing she saw was the old man approaching her before her vision blurred and she went unconscious.
