Chapter 9 - Rolanda Wenzel

[Your Vessel, Golden-horned Silver-furred Cat, has acquired a name from you, its master.]

[You have gained 20 Ultima Coins.]

[Ultima Coins: 25.]

[You are five Ultima Coins away from unlocking the Ultima Store.]

After giving his pet that name, these were the messages the system delivered. However, it was now that Seven decided to know what the Ultima Coins actually were. After hearing about the Ultima Store, he believed that both terms would have an association.

After Whisky was done eating the porks, Seven took it back to the Vanquishing Space, and then he attempted a discussion with the Ultimate Evolution System.

"System, can you make me understand something about the Ultima Coins?" Seven asked curiously.

[Ultima Coins are the currencies used in purchasing any buyable entity in the Ultima Store, depending on the value or type.]

Seven gave an unclear nod. "What can I get from the Ultima Store?"

[Skill Books... You can purchase certain Skill Books in the Ultima Coins if you can earn the required amount for them.]

[You can also purchase Art Books, Weapons, and other extraordinary items that enhance one's progress.]

"Can I take a look at the shop, please?"

[At this moment, the Ultima Store is locked. Earn 30 Ultima Coins to unlock the Ultima Store automatically.]

"Ahh... That shouldn't take much time, I guess," Seven muttered with a slight expression of disappointment.

He went to bed after noticing that it was already dark, making sure that Whisky was asleep as well. Normally, the cat slept way too early than he did, so it caused little stress for Seven.

...

The next day, Seven woke up to his new, familiar room. Actually, it was Whisky who had waken him up, screaming for his attention from the Vanquishing Space.

MEOW!

"Wake up, master! I need to eat!"

Seven sighed frustratingly and sat up. With a stretch, he stared blankly around and stood up.

"It's too early to be hungry... "

Seven muttered with a slight glare, then he stretched again and yawned.

MEOW!

"You have been sleeping for so long, it's almost noon!"

Hearing this from Whisky, Arnold's eyes widened in disbelief.

"WHOA... Whoa..."

With a rush, he approached the wooden clock on the wall at the corner of his room. It was after he saw it for himself that Seven believed what his pet had said.

(11:42 am).

"What the hell?! How come have I slept so much?" Seven shrugged.

MEOW!

"That doesn't matter now, I just need to eat!"

Seven was more confused than surprised, having been sleeping for more than twelve hours. He guessed that his lecturer might have come looking for him while he was deep in his slumber, but thanks to the fact that Whisky had been awake.

Even before daybreak.

MEOW!

"No one has been here, I was attentive."

Seven blinked a few times and nodded. He came to notice that Whisky could sense his thoughts and emotions after a few days of their companionship... It wasn't as if he wasn't pleased with that, but Seven guessed it would be too awkward if the cat got to notice some certain thoughts that it shouldn't.

Driving those thoughts to the side, Seven rushed out of his room after freshening up and made his way to the cafeteria. That time, it was noticeable that all students had had breakfast and were in their various learning spots.

Without sparing a second to glance around, Seven walked into the cafeteria to get breakfast. Just like yesterday, he got two bowls of porks but had a full bowl of spiced vegetables this time.

The cook also urged him to collect some beef, ensuring that it could help him grow and stay healthy. Seven never had much access to beef while growing up and knew little to nothing that it could offer. However, he decided to give it a try.

He walked back to his room after getting all he needed and gave Whisky the bowls of porks after letting them out of the Vanquishing Space.

He ate his meal as well and somehow discovered that eating beef wasn't bad at all. He never forgot to take the hawk eggs as well, taking three this time. Since there were a lot of them, it wasn't bad taking a lot.

When they were both done eating, Seven urged Whisky to go back to the Vanquishing Space while resting. He hadn't gotten his course lecturer yet, and what he could do was stay in his room all day.

Just when he had rested for a while, a knock on the door made him sit up in an instant.

Seven quickly stood up and walked over to the door curiously. When he was close enough, he opened up only to see two ladies standing at the door.

"Good day, student. You are Seven Hermes, right?" One of the ladies, looking more mature than the other, and dressed in a long black garment, asked.

"Yes, ma'am," Seven answered without hesitation.

"Alright, Seven. I have been assigned to this university to lecture you and this young lady here. By the way, I'm Brie Ruham, an Advanced-tier Vanquisher from the Emberfall Nation," the lady introduced with a smile, her long raven hair wiggling slightly.

"It's nice to meet you, ma'am."

These were the least that Seven could let out in response to her introduction. Next, he returned his gaze to the other lady, who seemed to be younger than Miss Brie. At that moment, his eyes widened a little when he got to recognize that face.

The second lady didn't appear to be some sort of lecturer, as Miss Brie had introduced, she was a student like him.

After reflecting backward, Seven remembered trailing someone with a familiar physique as her, and that only happened last night when he was on his way back from the cafeteria.

The memory knocked him off, making him shrug.

'She is the one,' he thought.

"So, Seven... I would like you both to meet and greet each other. You both are going to be the only Cat-type Vanquishing course students, and it would be great if you create a good and strong friendship," Miss Brie suggested.

That time, Seven nodded and approached the young lady who was wearing a white jacket and leather trousers. The look on her face appeared complicated and cold, but it didn't stop him from leaving his greeting first.

"Hi, I'm Seven Hermes. Nice to meet you. Can I know your name?" Seven voices broke as he asked.

However, the young lady, who still maintained a complicated look, hesitated for a while before finally deciding to let out some words.

"I'm Rolanda. Rolanda Wenzel. Daughter to the Iron-fisted Emperor of the Badlands."
