The trio walked out of the hive and made their way to the road there were still allot of wasps but they did not come close to them when they got to the road Rachel quickly registered a few more wasps so they could help the queen wasp set up and after that they started walking to the town.
"Before i forget here a cloak so you can hide your insect features and not scare everyone." Said Priya as she handed Rachel a extra cloak she had with her Rachel took the cloak and thanked Priya.
"So i have a question Zack?" Rachel said as they were walking.
"Sure go ahead i dont mind." Zack said not thinking much of it.
"So why are you not connected to the hivemind?" Rachel asked wondering if Zack knew something about it.
"The what now?" Zack answered suprised he had no idea of a hivemind of any sort.
So they looked at Priya who tried to look innocent but failed at it.
Priya sighed and answered the burning question on Zack's mind "i wanted to wait for at least one extra captain and i was planning on telling you when we got to the base." She answered.
"Then let's continue this conversation there then." Rachel said Zack was curious but nodded in understanding.
When they finally got to the town it was beginning to get dark and the guard who warned them in the morning was not the guard who was standing at the gate now, but they still passed through without a problem and were walking to the other gate so they could go to their base when multiple guards ran by them running to the gate were they just entered from.
"That can't be good." Zack said with almost a bit of empathy.
"To bad for them it's not our problem." Rachel said without looking back.
"Never said i wanted to help them it's just weird what could have happened that they suddenly need multiple guards at a gate when this city is very frequently visited by the academy or adventurers." He said completely devoided of tone when he mentioned the academy, Rachel looked suprised at how quickly his tone switched and looked at Priya who also looked suprised none of them knew what the academy did to him but they also decided that it would be better to talk about it in private.
But both of them could not deny that the guards all going to the gate they were just at was weird and everything Zack said is true so it is either someone stupid or strong but there was a third option.
"You dont think its one of them right?" Priya asked all of them knew she was talking about other legions.
"Don't think so none of them should have found us because we did not see any weird acting or weird looking animals." Zack answered her while Rachel nodded although she could not speak for the area where the base is she knew no one was following them from the giant hive.
"So do you think its a good idea to leave the city and go to the base or to stay?" Zack asked the girls he did not want to make a mistake that would out them as a danger.
"It should not be a problem we can just say that we are travelling through if they ask why we are leaving while the guards are having a problem." Rachel said with full confidence like it would be a minor thing if they were found out.
"Well that sounds good to me." Priya agreed immediately with Rachel like it was nothing but then again Zack realized that he might be over thinking it.
So they walked to their base and when to got to the gate there was surprisingly no guard now maybe it was because no one from the academy was coming but the trio did not mind and walked out the city.
"Lets walk in the woods instead of the road from now on." Priya said it with a tone that indicated that this was not up for discussion.
So Zack and Rachel had no choice but to agree to the centipedes request well they did not have to but Rachel trusts Priya allot and Zack did not want to make Priya angry and remembers what she did to the wall in the giant hive.
They finally got to their base and to Zack's suprise the wasps queen that Rachel brought into the legion was already laying eggs in a corner of the room he wanted to ask how but decided not to for his own sake.
"So can you explain what this hivemind is?" Zack asked to the girls he was very curious about since it was mentioned by Rachel.
"So they hivemind is a communication thing for the insect legion it sort of talking to eachother in our mind its really handy you can even command the insect from it but if your thoughts are all over the place during a fight it won't work, but also if you are connected to it you can see the location of everyone else who is connected to the hivemind." Priya quickly answerd while Rachel went to help the wasps queen.
Zack nodded understanding it "so how do i connect with it?" He asked hoping it would not hurt like the time he became the legion commander.
"Its easy just relax let me and close your eyes." Zack listened to Priya's answer and sometimes wet was presses against his forehead but he fought the urge to open his eyes and kept them closed, and suddenly it felt like he did not need to open his eyes to know where Priya or Rachel was he just knew.
'you van open your eyes' Priya told him so he did and saw her smiling at him. " You are now connected to the hivemind because if you where not you would still have your eyes closed." Priya told him
"Alright easier then i thought but what did you press against my forehead?" Zack asked he was very curious about it and just needed to know because his mind would make it worse if he did not know what it was.
"Oh that was my blood don't worry." Priya answered him.
"Are you two done overthere?" Rachel asked both of them nodded at her "good i am going to borrow him for a little bit." She said before grabbing Zack and leaving Priya to tend to her own faction.
"So why are you dragging me?" Zack asked he did not mind it but he wanted to make sure it was not going to become a normal thing.
"Well for one you are not struggling but i need to tell you about the wasp faction." Rachel answered him like it was normal although she was suprised that he was not struggling about getting dragged because the rest of the girls would struggle to get out of her grab so that they could walk.
Rachel told Zack everything about the wasp faction he needed to know especially about the wasps that could paralyse spiders with their Venom and how she wanted to have those bigger so they could potentially paralyse humans, wich scared Zack a bit but when asked where those where she looked at him suprised and told him that he was staring at the queen wasp of those so his day was ruined even more by that info that he could have been paralysed with enough stings.
"I have been wondering where is your stinger sorry if its a weird question." Zack asked her but also did not want to insult her.
" Oh those are on my elbow i dont have them on my rear like wasps because that is inefficiënt so they are on my elbows so i can use them when i miss a punch i can always elbow them and sting them." Rachel answered with a small smile on her face.
With that cleared up they sat in a circle to discuss their next course of action.
