Three black spears hurtled toward Ray, their speed blinding. He moved instinctively, barely evading two of them. The third, however, grazed his side, leaving a deep, searing gash. The speed of attack of a D+ rank demon wasn't something to scoof at.
The momentary contact with the spear's dark energy was enough to make his muscles scream in pain, but Ray gritted his teeth, his focus unwavering.
Blood seeped through the torn fabric of his shirt, but he remained upright, his eyes locked onto the demon. The creature stood tall and menacing, its eyes gleaming with malice. A twisted grin split its face as it flexed its claws, the sharp tips glistening with black demonic energy.
With a flick of his hand he fired a multiple fireballs towards the demon. The Demon grinned and dodged the fireballs easily by just merely tilting.
"Is that it? Where is that arrogant demeanor of yours now?" The demon sneered, his voice dripping with venom.
