Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

"Stay right here honey, don't come out or make a sound. Daddy will be back in no time, okay?" Her Dad warned... "Okay daddy." she replied softly. Jack looked lovingly at his little girl, he hesitated for a minute before saying "Sweetie, if I'm not back soon, give Uncle Andy a call, okay?" "Okay daddy but you'll be back soon." The little girl assured herself and her dad as well. Jack smiled and kissed her cheeks. He got out of the car and locked the car door and walked towards the group of people who stood some distance away from his car.

In their midst was the famous business tycoon and Mafia boss, Edwardo Montes along with his two sons who happened to be twins. Jack was already aware what was happening so he wasn't panicked .

The only fear he had was for his little girl in the car. "Jack Moore. How are you my man?" Edwardo said out loud. "Why did you call me here Edwardo? What do you want?" Jack asked clearly not interested in having anything to do with Edwardo. Edwardo smirked. "Jack, Jack, Jack. Always impatient. Well, I'll just go straight to the point. So, you thought you could just walk away from me whenever and however you fuckin' want, Is that it?, You've grown some shitty wings huh? You thought it was fuckin' alright for you to betray me? Well guess what bastard? you thought wrong. You know the rules old friend, it's either you get your sorry ass back on our side or you say your fuckin' last prayers." Edwardo said loudly.

"Well, I'm sorry Edwardo but you'll have to kill me sooner or later cause I'm done. I'm done keeping secrets from my family and running your shitty errands. I'm done fucking up innocent lives, I'm done working for you, Edwardo. I'm done doing shit for you." Jack replied and Edwardo laughed loudly, his Men followed.

By his side were his two sons, who were totally opposite to each other,The older was glad to be in this scene where his Father would definitely kill someone but the youngest son hated everything about the Mafia to the core.

His Father knew this yet here he was. He wondered why he still brought him here. He tried looking around avoiding everything happening around him while his brother laughed along with their Father and he exhaled.

Inside the car, little Melissa was getting bored sitting and doing nothing, she got up and maneuvered her way to the front seat and sighted her father along with some men, she also saw two little boys. She wondered what they were doing and why her father didn't take her with him.

She twitched her face at the little boys in some of a jealous way. She watched as her father and one of the men talked to each other. The laughter died down as soon as Edwardo stopped. "Wow! My friend that was a great speech, I applaud you!" Edwardo said loudly doing a slow clap. He continued. "But yunno, I never thought there would come a day when you'll betray me. You had been my most trusted Man, I saw you as my brother and then, you pull this shit. Well,,,, since you've made up your mind, you've left me no fuckin' choice."

Edwardo turned his head slightly backwards and without notice, a gun man was signaled. One of Edwardo's men handed him a pistol. He signaled to his youngest son to move closer to him, although the two boys were confused and the little boy was persistent, he couldn't defy his father so he moved closer and his father handed him the gun.

This left the two boys speechless. The youngest boy's eyes almost left it's sockets, what was he's father doing handing him a gun?. "Take it." His father ordered and he reluctantly took it. "Now son, shoot at that Man." "What?" The boy assumed he didn't hear what his father just said. He looked towards Jack with fear and stared back at his father with pleading eyes but his father cared less. Edwardo was becoming impatient with his cowardly son. "Shoot!" He snapped angrily at the little boy who stared back at Jack. He couldn't do it.

Meanwhile, Jack's mind was on his daughter in the car. He knew he wouldn't leave that place alive, he looked back at his car. "I'm sorry Princess, I won't be able to come back to you. I love you my Princess, very much." He muttered. "I..I,..I can't, I, I...Can't Dad, plea...."..."Pull the damn trigger and shoot this fucker, bastard!" His father screamed causing the little boy to pull the trigger in shock and the next thing that was heard were two gun shots which had been fired directly at Jack's chest.

Melissa watched as the Man her daddy had been talking to took a gun and handed it over to one of the little boys. Didn't her daddy say guns were dangerous? and it wasn't a toy?, then why was this man giving a little boy a gun, "He's definitely a bad man, should I tell daddy?" She said to herself and decided to call out to her dad. "Daddy!, Daddy, that's a bad man, he has a gun and even gave the little boy!. Daddy, he's a bad man!! They're all bad people!" Melissa shouted but no one heard her.

She felt frustrated and decided to go meet her dad, she tried opening the door but it was locked. "Daddy locked me in?" She wondered surprised, she continued struggling with the door until she heard the loud gun shot and screamed terrified.

She looked up to see her daddy fall to the ground, at the age of six, Melissa could identify blood and she could see her daddy was soaked in blood, it had to be bad, blood was never a good sign, she knew and burst out in tears. She hit the door hard and cried out. "Daddy!, Daddy! Daddy, c'mon, get up...You're bleeding,.let's go to the hospital!,Daddy!" But still no one heard her and her daddy wasn't moving.

She suddenly remembered the phone, she took the phone to call her dad's friend, Andy, he picked the call, "Jack."Andy called. "No,.." Melissa answered quietly "Mel? what're you doing with your dad's phone?" Andy asked. "Uncle Andy, daddy is bleeding."

"What?"Andy exclaimed in shock. "He locked me in the car and met some bad people he wouldn't get up"she said again "hold on sweetie, what're you talking about?, What happened to your dad?" Andy asked still unable to digest what he was hearing.

"It was the bad man , he gave Sobb...a bad boy a gun, Sobb...and he pointed it ,at daddy sobb..and there was a loud noise and daddy fell and he is bleeding and sobb...wouldn't get up." Melissa explained already in tears "Hold on sweetie, tell me where you are, do you know where you are? Where are you?" Andy asked her in panick. "I don't know." She replied in between sobbs. "Okay. Listen to me, don't move or look outside, just sit right where you are, I'm gonna come find you, okay?" He warned her. "Uncle Andy, will daddy be okay?" she asked him. Andy paused for a moment but then replied. "I'm on my way, your daddy will be fine." Andy assured her. Melissa nodded and the call was disconnected.

She looked up watching the men leaving the scene where her dad was covered in his own blood. It was a scary sight but Melissa couldn't take her eyes away from her father's still body laying on the ground...

She couldn't fathom the idea of her dad not coming back to the car and getting her to the park. Hold on, it wasn't an idea it's reality. Her dad wasn't walking towards her, he wasn't even moving.
